DEFINING HOUSE, SINCE 1991.

Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon, aka MURK, Murk Boys, Deep South, Liberty City and Funky Green Dogs, are regarded as one of the most successful dance DJs and production teams in the world. For over thirteen years, the duo has created hundreds of original productions and remixes. The signature Murk sound is created with a dark feel, sultry tribal drums, pulsating basslines, unforgettable melodies and soulful vocals.

Ralph and Oscar forged a friendship in the second grade in Miami. They both began to DJ as teenagers and have worked non-stop towards their dream of reaching people with their music. They gained inspiration and education by listening religiously to house greats like Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Junior Vasquez and their long time mentor and friend Danny Tenaglia.

Growing up deeply rooted in their Cuban-American heritage while living in Miami, they got off to their true start in the winter of 1991, when Murk Records first stormed onto the dance music world with their debut collaborative creation, Intruders You Got Me. From that moment on, Oscar and Ralph went on to create an assembly of house classics that would forever be instilled in dance music history. From the eternal impact of the Sound Factory classic, Liberty Citys Some Lovin, to the Billboard chart-topping staple by the Funky Green Dogs: Fired Up!, to the 2003 Twisted global epidemic known as Dark Beat, the Murk sound has truly been heard across the globe. Their music has compelled the likes of Madonna, Mary J. Blige, Cher, Seal, Pet Shop Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Spice Girls, Donna Summer to request remixes.

Murk are equally skilled as DJs are they are studio producers. From regular appearances at Danny Tenaglias Be Yourself in New York to memorable summer sets in Ibiza for Pacha, Murk have proven they are seasoned performers. Among hundreds of other prominent experiences is their headlining performance at Australias largest millennium event, also crowd-rocking sequences at Zouk - Singapore, Ministry of Sound London, Harlem Nights at The End London, Stereo Montreal, Cream and Renaissance. Murk is also highly famed for their regular shows in their hometown of Miami at Space, where Oscar G also holds his highly acclaimed, award-winning, weekly residency.

In 2003 Murk released their fifth artist album on Tommy Boy Records simply titled Murk. Just two months after its October 2003 release, three of its singles had already reached 1 on the Billboard dance chart. Murk went on set a new record with five number one singles in the Billboard dance chart in one year only Madonna, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston had previously done better. In 2004, Murk received the Best Producer award at the Dancestar USA Awards: they were also nominated for Best Single (Alright) and Best DJ (Oscar G).

It is beyond any doubt that Murk has played a major role in the development of house music over the last decade. Having worked with forward-thinking labels like Hooj Choons, Junior Boys Own, Star 69 and Twisted; Murk maintains a solid commitment to making music that stays true to their underground origins. Oscar and Ralph look to continue to get music lovers addicted to drums in 2005 by relaunching the ever-popular and highly profiled Murk Records label.
