Muncy's Nurse

"With an ambition to rid the redundancy of rock, three cousins, Baldemar, Juan and Julio decided to form a band, finding a drummer named Rene. The four clicked from the first down-beat, witnessing along with the rest of the audience, a combination like no other heard or seen in South-Texas. "



   

From the portrayal of the life and struggle of the middle class Mexican-American culture, to the general angst faced by people everywhere, religious notions, loss of love to substance abuse, from self-emancipation to progressive thought, the idea all lies the same, struggle breathes daily.



   

The phrase overly-anticipated new album, does no justice to the two-year journey that produced the self-titled debut album. Like a war plan in development, the songs of Muncy's Nurse are now set in motion.



   

Amidst thousands of rock bands, some more current than others, some playing all the right hooks and some writing songs catchy enough for commercialization, Muncy's Nurse approaches the art at different perspective.



   

Unlike how pop-rock may advance on your ears with overused chord-progressions and fabricated imagery, the songs of Muncy's Nurse can help you unwind your tired soul, or smack you across your face in a total energetic pulse.



   

The double-edged sword approach of the group enhances the experience of listening to rock music, and opens listeners to tinges of other genres influential to this group, including traditional Mexican folk songs.
