"This is Multiplex. They’re like the Rapture, only good and a little more progressive (what a whack word). My first inclination was to save myself time and assume that I couldn’t wait thirty more seconds to see where “Particularidades” was going. But, in my laziness I let it linger and I realized that I was really, really enjoying it’s eclectic mixture of spanish rapping and funky bass. If that just sounds fucking horrible to you, I would tend to agree. Just attempting to describe them with words doesn’t work very well because it conjures up images of dollar bin cds in the “world music” section. This is more like Velvet Underground’s and Os Mutante’s funked out little sister. Experiment with something other than drugs and listen to the tracks.

Na linha do tempo que parte do glam rock dos anos 70 (Roxy Music, David Bowie, Lou Reed), se eletroniza (Kraftwerk, Devo), aporta no rock soturno dos 80 (Joy Division, Cabaret Voltaire, Depeche Mode) e desemboca na dissolução dos 90 e 2000 (Daft Punk, música eletrônica de pista, electro), o trio paulistano Multiplex até parece moldado em fôrma estrangeira, mas é apenas a primeira impressão. A partir das letras iconoclastas em português, se descortina uma salada de frutas de referências locais, em que coexistem (quase) pacificamente Dolores Duran, jovem guarda, Secos & Molhados, Frenéticas, Gang 90, Cazuza, Tetine, Cansei de Ser Sexy, entre dezenas de outros.
