Songstress, social philanthropist, and Grammy Nominated recording artist are just a few titles held by Carolyn Malachi, great-granddaughter of Jazz pianist John Malachi.
Carolyn Malachi released the albums Revenge of the Smart Chicks in 2008 and Revenge of the Smart Chicks II in 2009. The albums reveal the inner workings of a Smart Chick, which she defines as "any woman who makes the daily decision to be authentic." Carolyn Malachi founded the Smart Chicks Network in 2009.
Her 2010 release, the "Lions, Fires & Squares" EP, spoke of relationships, love, and strength. The songs bear influence of her 2010 tours in South Africa. The single "Orion" earned Carolyn Malachi a 2011 Grammy Nomination for Best Urban / Alternative Performance.
Carolyn Malachi's path was not easy. She wrapped herself into music for comfort and motivation, thereby turning her adversity into opportunity and a contagious mantra – "Onward & upward".
Microsoft presented the video for her motivational single, "Beautiful Dreamer", to more than 400 million device users through its Windows Media Guide. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, FOX News, Centric TV, Clutch Magazine also presented the video.
Known to think globally and act locally, Carolyn Malachi is the recipient of a 2012 Arts & Humanities award from Prince George's County Social Innovation Fund.
Carolyn Malachi, FIAT, and SIRIUS XM station HUR Voices produced a "Textual", a safe-driving video. The PSA encourages fans to send text messages only when they have arrived at their destinations - never from behind the wheel.
The School Fund and Carolyn Malachi established a unique partnership which uses music to provide 10,000 hours of monthly classroom time for students in East Africa.
BET presented Carolyn Malachi at its 2012 Leading Women Defined Summit.
