He started his hip hop dream in Jr. High School, beat boxin on campus for now multi-platnuim Artist “Snoop Dogg” and “Domino“. Soon after, he retired the beat box skillz and picked up a pen. The rap came to him like 2nd nature, with that he started to develop his own personality and image. Coming from the north side of Long Beach California he began his crusade to put his side on the map, and that’s where the “Sho Shot” legacy began. For the next couple of years he began to work on building his rep on the underground scene.
"Sho Shot" signed with C-Style’s 19th street Records a subsidiary to NOO-Tribe /Virgin Records. A little bit more than a year later, the 19th Street compilation was released. During this time "Sho Shot" became a member of the legendary Long Beach Crew “Low Life Gangstaz", which members included "Bad Azz" , "Lil Tip", "Lil J", "Shorty K" , "Coco Loc", "Ms Legacy" and “Frank Nitty” . For the next year "Sho Shot" a long with his crew toured the country, opening for such acts as "The Westside Connection" , "The Dogg Pound", and the "Luniz" only to be set back . Still hanging on to the street life, "Sho Shot " would be incarcerated for the following four years. After his release from prison the stocky North Long Beach rapper is back in the lab and not only is he back, but he is better than ever.
More mature and focused . "Sho Shot" elevated his game and took it beyond just being another Artist. He and his Manager formed “www.tiptopentertainment.net”. A label to package his self as an artist under his own company before re-entering the business.
He’s worked with artists such as, Big Snoop Dogg, Crooked I, Da Eastsidaz ( Tray D and Goldie Loc ), YukMouth from the Luniz, Coolie, C.P.O. (The Boss Hog), Soopafly from the Dogg Pound), and KoKane. Sho Shot has also worked with producers such as LT Hutton, Fred Wreck, Warren G, Soopafly (from the Dogg Pound, Dazz Dillenger, Chill from Comptons Most Wanted, Six Mill, Co-T, and Skarecrow from Da Monster Mob. What Sho Shot is doing now is a far cry from where he’s been. True enough he’s one of Long Beach's dopest M.C.'s for the last 10 years , he spent a total of 7 years incarcerated and has missed many opportunities to take his music to the next level.
Since Sho Shot was paroled hes recorded another LowLife album with Bad Azz $$dollar Sign Recordz Presents: “The News”. Performed cameo appearances
on records with Snoop Dog, Kurupt, Bad Azz, Crooked I, BlaQThoven, and Kam. TV appearances on MTVs show Busta’s, a pilot by; Martin Lawrence Hosted by; Kurupt. “Sho Shot a.k.a. Shorty Big” is focused and ready as ever to claim his crown. The North side Greatest is back, and this time here to stay.
