A virtuoso pianist with a musky, melancholic singing voice, Hue Blanes has been playing music since he was seven. He is a Melbourne institution, dug in deeper than a tick, and co-runs Jazz Party, a pop-up underground music dive. Hue is a prolific musical craftsman, and turns out instrospective, jaunty songs full of quirk and ennui. Outside of his own project, Mr Blanes is also a founding member of electro hip-hop outfit The Melodics, is musical director on the Aboriginal comedy The New Black, and plays keys with The Harry James Angus Band.
