And yes it is a bit different, even more soaring guitars, slowly, laidback, here and there

flaming, but those guitars and that crystal voice of Olivia are setting the tunes.

New Live dates for the UK here!

  The band was formed in York and inspired by the beautiful English Lake District. The line-up in the early days was: * Bryan Josh - Founder member - Lead electric guitars, acoustic 6 + 12 strings, e-bow, vocals. Before Mostly Autumn he played in a rock band called Expressions as well as a few Pink Floyd cover bands. He also taught guitar and, like Hank Marvin, Ritchie Blackmore and David Gilmour, he prefers a Fender Stratocaster. Bryan’s musical tastes include Pink Floyd, The Alan Parsons Project, Maddy Prior’s "Arthur the King”, early Genesis and more. * Heather Findlay - Vocals, bodhran, tambourine, 6 + 12 string acoustic guitars. Heather was asked to join Mostly Autumn In April 1997. Her musical inspirations are Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Metallica, Fleedwood Mac and more 60s and 70s bands. * Iain Jennings - Keyboards, Synthesisers, Hammond Organ, backing vocals. He also can play trumpet, trombone and has completed various music studies. Liam Davison - Electric guitars, 6 + 12 string acoustic guitars and vocals. Liam came to play for Mostly Autumn in 1997 when he stood in temporarily, and has been with them ever since. * Angela Goldthorpe - Flute, Low & High whistles, recorders and vocals. Angela first met Bryan and Mostly Autumn as their lighting engineer. Her musical influences are All About Eve (see index on the left side) and Jethro Tull. * Bob Faulds - violin. In the early days the bass and drums changed on every album. In 2001 two new members joined. * Andy Smith – Bass. He knew the band as he ran a lighting business with Angela. The Rolling Stones are one of his favourite bands and he's the oldest of the team! * Jonathan Blackmore - Drums, (no family of Ritchie), born in '81 (and great already). He enjoys surfing and extreme sports in his spare time. * John Spence -who engineered and produced most of Mostly Autumn’s albums, has said "They are the best band I've heard in years, you just don't get albums like this anymore". John has worked with the likes of Beautiful South, John Parr, The Phoenix Horns (Phil Collins band), The Mission, Bill Nelson (Be-Bob Deluxe) and many more. In April 2004 the band announced that Jonathan Blackmore was leaving the band for personal reasons. * Andrew Jennings, brother of Iain, became the new man behind the drum kit. As a fully trained classical percussionist Andrew brought an impeccable musical pedigree to the band. The first performance by Mostly Autumn with Andrew Jennings on drums was at the Y Theatre Leicester on April 3rd. In August 2005 Mostly Autumn's Heather Findlay and Angela Gordon established an acoustically driven duo called Odin Dragonfly. They did various support acts as well as headlining their own show at the legendary Lion Inn in Blakey Ridge. See our friends for more info. In 2006 the line-up changed once more when Iain Jennings left the band to set up his own project called Breathing Space. * * Chris Johnson, a long-standing friend of all the Mostlies, took over the keyboard duties together with Angela.

* Olivia Sparnen is added as extra backing vocalist (she is also member of Breathing Space).

2007: Things change and never say that a life with Mostly Autumn is dull:

Liam Davison left the band to work on his solo project. Apperently this new project and a band on the road wasn't possible.

Andrew Jennings left the band to! He is involved with a successful new hip band called 'Snowfight In The City Centre'.

* Gavin Griffiths, ex-Karnataka and Fish and now in Panic Room aswell is the new drummer.

2008

While the band was recording their album:

Angela Gordon,

Chris Johnson &

Gavin Griffiths left the band

the new members are:

* Anne-Marie Helder keyboards, guitars (electric rhythm, & acoustic), flute, and backing vocals (also in Panic Room),

* Iain Jennings back keykeyboard,

* Liam Davison back on guitars &

* Henry Bourne on drums!

And of course "the Nightwish Piper" Troy Donockley is present on the new album too, with a baeutiful string arangement and Uilleann Pipes and whistles.

Together with;

* Bryan Josh - vocals & guitars &

Heather Findlay - vocals, guitars, percussion,

that is the line-upp for the upcoming live gigs in spring 2008.

An other guest member who frequently appear is Troy Donockley on Uilleann Pipes. Troy plays as a solo artist as well as in many bands (to name a few; Nightwish, Magenta, Mady Prior, Barbara Dickson, MandalaBand) and, of course, with his friend Dave Brainbridge in " Iona”.
