aka Isabel Reiß und Viola Thiele make thrilling electronic music.

Their debut Album “Das Polyphone Rauschen” will be released on the Berlin based record label WIRED RECORDS this spring. You don't have to yell "eclecticism” by all their mixing around with genres, but you wouldnt be so wrong either. The music of Mosh Mosh is incredibly bass heavy. It seduces the ear with sweet melodies and troubles the mind with texts, which are equally bizarre and funny and they perform an exciting and funny live-show which is full of references to horror movies and related themes.

Reiß and Thiele work together with musicians like Zombie Nation, Catriona Shaw aka Miss le Bomb, Heidi Mortenson, Knarf Rellöm Trinity, G.Rizo and Lesbians on Extasy.

They like to call themselves a diva-like-duo. In fact at the beginning of their shows you could accidently mistake them for two swell ladies on their way to a gala dinner, an image which the two dames will have totally deconstructed towards the end of their concert. In the heat of the battle whilst eagerly performing their music, the ladies seem to forget about etiquette and get lost in stagediving and extatic stageacrobatics. Their run-down condition appears to comfort them most – always busily redefining the codes of femininity/womanliness. "Junkies in Bikinis gonna get you, flowers in bikinis gonna rape you, ladies in bikinis gonna kill you!" – Mosh Mosh perform their perfidious and fomenting lyrics as Riot-Grrrl choirs, raps and recitatives or in charming soft voices, often accompanied by sweet melodies, which seem to be played on ancient synthesizers.

Mosh Mosh also seems to fall for the world of animals: Apart from two songs about ponies (one about a queer pony, the other one wears golden pearls in its tail perm) there is one song about otters. And even in their cover version of “welcome to the jungle” a hoofy quadruped creeps in. The two Mosh Mosh Glam-Divas let Guns nRoses be stuck in their strech jeans and prove that Riot Grrrlsm is not dead, but instead is more manifold than ever.



Mosh Mosh aka Isabel Reiß und Viola Thiele machen elektronische Musik. Ihre Debut EP mit dem schlichten Titel "Mosh Mosh" erschien auf dem Münchner Label Echokammer. Mosh Moshs Musik sind krachige Bassdrums und schwere Basslinien. Treibende Beats wechseln sich ab mit dubbigen Stücken und Ragga-Anleihen.



Reiss und Thiele arbeiten mit Musikern und Musikerinnen wie Zombie Nation, Catriona Shaw a.k.a Miss le Bomb, Hiltmeyer, Heidi Mortenson und Joe Masi zusammen. Die beiden bezeichnen sich selbst als divenhaftes Duo. Tatsächlich könnte man sie zu Beginn ihrer Bühnenshow mit zwei feinen Damen verwechseln, die unterwegs sind zu einem Gala Dinner. Allerdings bleibt am Ende der Konzerte von diesem Eindruck nicht mehr viel übrig. Denn im Eifer des Gefechts sind sich die Diven weder zum Stagediven noch für exstatische "Bühnenakrobatik" zu schade. Im ramponierten Zustand scheinen sich die beiden Ladies am wohlsten zu fühlen - immer fleissig, die Codes der Damenhaftigkeit neu zu definieren.



"Junkies in Bikinis gonna get you, flowers in bikinis gonna rape you, ladies in bikinies gonna kill you!" - Die perfiden, absurden und agitatorischen Texte werden mit Riot-Grrrl-Chören, Sprechgesang oder lieblichen Hauchstimmen intoniert, oft getragen von süssen Melodien, die auf altertümlichen Synthesizern gespielt scheinen.



Auch die Welt der Tiere scheint es Mosh Mosh angetan zu haben: Neben zwei Liedern über Ponies (das eine ein queeres Pony, das andere trägt goldene Perlen in der Schweifdauerwelle) gibt es da auch einen Song über Otter. Und selbst in ihre Coverversion von "Welcome to the Jungle" hat sich ein wiehernder Vierbeiner eingeschlichen. Mosh Mosh, die zwei Glam-Diven lassen Guns N' Roses blöde aus den Stretch-Jeans gucken und zeigen, dass Riot Girrrlism nicht tot, sondern vielfältig wie nie ist.
