Texas natives Shayne Morrison (Carthage, TX) and Clint Williams (Hawkins, TX) first began working together in 1998 in the band “Perfect Stranger.” Perfect Stranger realized a great deal of success in the ‘90s which began with the hit “You have the Right to Remain Silent.” The single spent more than 30 weeks on the country charts, and rose to number 4.

Perfect Stranger, while still playing today at festivals and other special venues, was the catalyst that brought Morrison-Williams together. It was in 2004 that Shayne and Clint formed the duo Morrison-Williams., and have made their mark in the music scene and beyond ever since. The duo have pushed the boundaries of their earlier personal music stylings, which has led to development of their own unique sound. They have been influenced by all genres of music that has spanned many decades. The duo first entered the music spotlight after recording their self-titled CD and releasing their first single “My Girl Friday”, which was followed up by the single and video release titled “I Still Talk to You.”

The Music

Morrison-Williams has more than 40 years of combine musical experience between them, so it’s safe to say that they have a passion for music that can be heard and felt during their live shows and when listening to their recordings. When listening to their music, it’s important to remember that every note, every word, whether they wrote the song, or are performing another songwriters composition, the music they choose is music that they believe in and relate to.

Morrison-Williams do their music, their way, and have garnered the admiration of fans throughout Texas and beyond. They co-wrote five of the 12 songs on their self-titled debut, including a song written about the historical Alamo battle titled, “Good Day to Die.” The song was originally written for the movie titled, “The Alamo”, which starred Dennis Quaid and Billy Bob Thorton (2004). The producers of The Alamo decided to go another direction with the movie and the song was not used, so the duo recorded the song for their debut effort. The song has become one of the most requested original compositions performed by the duo.

Clint Williams has a way with words whether he is co-writing or writing alone. On the self-titled CD, Clint inspired many of the topics that the duo sings about on the self-titled CD, was the writer/composer of “Looking at the Sun”, and co-wrote two additional songs on the self-titled CD with long-time friend and talented musician, Gary Leach (of Rosewood Studios, Tyler, Texas). Shayne Morrison began writing in the ‘90s. His first published effort was a song he co-wrote a song titled, “Miracle”, which was originally pitched to the Backstreet Boys in the ‘90s, and later appeared on the second release from Perfect Stranger, titled “The Hits.”

Currently, the duo is working for new material for the follow-on CD, which they plan to release in 2011.
