Currently enjoying the successful release of her second solo album and the chart sucess of its first single, Morgan Mayer is proving to be an artist that is living up to Juno Award winner Jason Plumb's comments about her being, “one of the most talented people I have ever worked with.” Morgan, a 18 year-old classically trained vocalist, is a Saskatchewan artist who writes straight-up pop/rock songs about things that are important to 18 year-old girls and, as a result, writes songs that her audience “get”.

Hang On Every Word, the first single from Morgan's newest CD iF i ruled the World, “hit the airwaves in Saskatchewan like a freight train out of control.our phones lit up and she was instantly in our Top 6 at 6” - Mark Hunter RAWLCO Radio. Thoughout the spring of 2007 radio across Canada was adding the track to their rotations and by May of 2007, HOEW had spent 25 weeks on the MediaBase HOT AC Top 200 including 9 weeks in the national HOT AC Top 100, and 8 weeks in the Saskatchewan Top 30. A month after the release of the single, Morgan was thrilled to be charting simultaneously on HOT AC, CHR, and ROCK across Canada.

Her second single, the self-penned Average Girl entered the MediaBase HOT AC charts in early May with a bullet and can be heard on the network series Degrassi: The Next Generation and RenegadePress.com.

Even though she is just 18, Morgan has worked many years developing into a songwriter and performer with a definite future in music. At 11 she made her first recording of original Christmas songs that found its way onto regional radio and continues to receive substantial airplay each season. At 13, she received her first FACTOR grant to help with the recording of a pop track entitled 51 Cards, which reached 1 on NewMusicCanada's Sugar Pop charts and was included on the 2003 Flatland compilation CD. At 15 Morgan took the main stage at the Saskatchewan Flatland Music Festival, performed live on CBC Radio with jazz singer Karen Plato and was a showcase performer at the 2006 Western Canada Music Awards in Vancouver.

In 2006, after receiving a $10,000 recording grant, Morgan began writing with producer David j Taylor (Despistado, Sylvie, UPD) with the desire to create an album with songs that had direct meaning to her and had a sound she likes to call girly pop with balls. That album, iF i Ruled The World, garnered considerable media attention for a teenage indie pop artist, with nationally airing spots on CTV's Canada AM and the CBC documentary UNSUNG as well as regional coverage by CANWEST GLOBAL TV. Released under her own label push the cat records, iF i Ruled The World is distributed by Spirit River Distributors.

In spite of the obvious comparisons being made to Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson, Morgan insists that she makes no effort to emulate anyone. Her sound, she states, “is just me“. “I write about things that all mean something.they're from the heart.” As a performer, the ultimate for Morgan is playing live.creating the oportunity for her audiences to “have a good time and feel good when they leave.”
