monosolar are Andreas Pfeil aka arrow, a musical multi talent and owner of ¨AA- Studio¨ taught himself to play the guitar more than 30 years ago. The fact that he forms part of many different band projects gives us a good idea about the boundless musical aspirations of this autodidact. He plays in several small Jazz , Rock and cover-band formations in the city of Hamburg where he is able to exhibit his musical talent in a striking way. For the Jamaican reggae artist "Action Fire" he
produced the Radio Hit "Joy and happiness". Now and then he produces jingles for commercial ads and feature films as well. One project, namely C.O.N. SEQUENCER made him very popular thanks to several festivals where he performed in countries as diverse as Israel, Japan, Portugal, India, Switzerland, Ireland etc. The ¨monosolar¨ project now presents a further challenge for him to display once again his musical feeling and know-how! and Jens Barenscher aka Nic Klischee ¨Dub Steady Crew & Monosolar Dj Kollektiv¨ DJ and organizer of the legendary "Dub The Club" Parties in Hamburg ¨Jens¨ had already gained fame at the beginning of the 90's with his renowned Mix Tapes and also as Free Style MC under the artistic name of "Audio Jens".
The unique style of his Mix Tapes as well as his DJ Sets with influences from Jazz, Funk, Dub, Electronic Music and Hip Hop combined inimitably with audio sequences taken from films, radio plays, current political events and environmental sounds, only allows us to get a glimpse of the immense vinyl collection he must have.
And although he hardly ever raps today you won't see him without his beloved Dictaphone. Inspired by several trips to South America, and a savour for music and films from the 60's and 70's, Jens and ¨Andreas¨set up the ¨monosolar¨ Project.

Due to the different music styles that both Andreas and Jens make use of in their relaxed and danceable tracks, one finds it difficult to label these as purely 'EASY LISTINING or in wider terms as simply 'lounge music'. A term, neither of them would like to use in order to describe their creation.
Urban Lounge and Bossa Tronic Grooves comes quite close to a fitting description of monosolar, but even this doesn't really echo their inimitable sound. While listening to monosolar one is captured by its sensual as well as elaborate and detailed musical creations, which are alive with joy and soulful feelings
