I come from a confused and disturbed childhood; I’ve been through a lot-seen even more. The one thing that sticks to me like glue is the “what if” scenario, what if I had a father that was actually there to guide me through adolescence, what if my mother wasn’t always so easy on me, what if I ignored the streets and built my inspiration from great leaders like… Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Barack Obama, Paulo Coelho, Joel Osteen, T.D Jakes, philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Democritus. Certainly I would have been more rounded well educated and extremely successful, but this retrospect of my life just simply isn’t the path I chose to inherit. Instead, I robbed, stole, sold drugs, indulged into alcoholism and promiscuity. I never made it to high school I dropped out in 7th grade I fought every other day, been shot at, been held at gun point, drove constantly under the influence and at the edge of disaster (pure recklessness). Half my so call “boys” are either locked up or still on the block doing the same thing they were 9 years ago, me on the other hand… I recently got introduced to fatherhood or should I say (single-parenthood), I have the most beautiful daughter a man could dream for (thank god she looks like me), & since I am both mommy and daddy in this relationship I take the due responsibility with pride, and appreciate the tremendous help from my mother and family.
Of course, I still make mistakes everyday that I struggle with but unfortunately I’m still human (chuckles). My music is deeply rooted and comes only from passion, pain, experience and observance, which I admit it could get a little ugly sometimes (you feel me lol). My family is the key to my hunger, my daughter is what keeps me functioning each day I wake up….This is MY life MY time this is NO game
