A dynamic, six-piece, multi-genre Jam band from Los Angeles, CA- Mother Jones, one of LA Music Awards recipients for "Jam Band Artist of the Year", has assembled a powerhouse of some of the west coast's finest musicians and vocalists featuring outstanding original music. Mother Jones was founded by band leader and multi-instrumentalist Son Vo (former bassist of Freshly Baked)- the "Mekong Delta Bluesman" and original Mother Jones guitarist, Tony DiPiano, in 2001. Since then they have been consistently recording, touring and performing, headlining venues and festivals throughout California and neighboring states.
Original members Son Vo, Halina Janusz and Marshall Thompson have joined forces with the now well established MoJo bassist, Steve Janowski (Annieland, Good Dog Nigel), Drummer Chris Kirshbaum (Electrobek, The Groovy Rednecks- and Dreamworks animator!) and their newest member, former guitarist for The Outlaws and owner of Venice Amplifer Company, the incomparable Billy Yates, to bring you their newest gem of an album, "Better Days". This is Mother Jones' third album- just released in May of this year. Their first two albums, "Life Is Illusion" and "UNION" continue to receive airplay at stations throughout the US and Europe with "UNION" holding steady in the top 20 for several months in early 2007 on the Jam Radio Chart at Jambands.com.
Keep and eye and and ear out for the band over the next several months- they'll be out on the road off and on to No. Cal, Arizona and Nevada, and as many surrounding states as they can get to- as well as playing some new So. Cal venues, partnering up with LiViTY Outernational http://www.livity.org/ through their company, Rising Sun Entertainment for some fantastic shows and outstanding events. Look for shows at LiViTY Outernational's flagship store in Santa Monica, CA- including some of the best Jam, Americana, Acoustic, Indie, and Folk acts So. Cal has to offer.
"Better Days" should hit the radio airwaves real soon, too- listen to your local and internet Jam, Americana and Indie radio stations, and if you don't hear Mother Jones, call and request them! Songs and album are also available at several places online- including itunes, CD Baby, DigStation, and Amazon.
