MJ Sly represents Atlantic Street UK and is a versaitile Club DJ & Promoter and a genuine music lover! Sly grew up listening to Gospel, Soul & RnB and from an early age always had a passion for music. Most people in the ends were still in to Jungle when Sly started playing House & Garage on his brothers decks back in 1997. With his older brother DJing and promoting events, Sly spent hours as a young teen DJing, writing lyrics, coming up with concepts for raves, flyering and teaching himself the mechanics of the UK Underground scene. As an MC and DJ, the title MJ came about and MJ Sly has progressed and diversified performing at venues across the country.



Successful residencies at the infamous 'Soul Kitchen' and 'UK Sensations' events under Gigolos Promotions led to MJ Sly co-promoting 'Smooth Grooves' & 'Urban Fusion' in 2002; a series of events where he performed with guests including DJ Swerve, Shortee Blitz, Da Firin Squad and more as well as performing alongside Roll Deep, More Fire, Boundary & Boyz In The Hood at the infamous 'Skank Out' dances.



MJ Sly then spent several years living in Cardiff. Whilst attending Uni Sly performed as the resident DJ/Host for Wales No.1 Urban Brand 'Fresh City' and the innovators of UKG in Wales & The West 'Funkin Marvellous' at a host of venues in the capital and surrounding cities such as Bristol, Plymouth, Newport and more. As regional reporter for Blues&Soul Magazine & RWD Magazine, MJ Sly performed for two consecutive years in the 'Urban' arena at the 20 000 strong 'Escape Into The Park'.



MJ Sly has performed alongside all the leading UK broadcasters including Heartless, Westwood, Goldfinger, Shortee Blitz & Tuff Jam as well as support top UK acts including Doctor, Shizzle, J2K, Lethal B & Kano. In July 2006, MJ Sly mixed the official Cham Mix CD for Atlantic Records UK, of which 10 000 were distributed nationwide.



Part of the 'SERIAL RAVERZ' promotional team MJ Sly co-promotes and performs at a number of events including 'Provocative', 'Ladies First' and other events in Greater/West London; the most renowned being 'SexyBack'.



'SexyBack' launched in late 2006 as a weekly Wednesday night event in Windsor and came about as Sly began getting into the 'new' Funky House scene. Everything goes in cycles and the sounds DJs like Supa D and Pioneer were playing took Sly back to his roots as a teenager when he first got into the music in 1996/7. 'SexyBack Wednesdays' is now widely recognised in the industry as one of the first events that pushed the Funky House sound outside of London with artists such as Supa D, Pioneer, Spidey G, Gemini and more performing regularly.



2008 and MJ Sly continues to walk the tight rope that is DJ/Promoter. As Head of Atlantic Street Team in the Thames Valley area, he promotes acts signed to the label in HIGH WYCOMBE - READING - SLOUGH - WINDSOR & UXBRIDGE and continues to perform as a DJ at venues across the UK.
