Miss Nikki Biography
Rapper, Hip-Hop and R&B artist Miss Nikki born Shavonta Nicole Davis was born on October 16, 1978, in Bradenton Florida, but currently live in Tallahassee Florida. Miss Nikki is the only child of her mother Faye Cannon, whom is a CNA nurse, but currently is enrolled back in school pursing another degree. Miss Nikki is the Second to the oldest child out of four kids from her father Vincent Davis, whom is a football coach at Iowa College. Miss Nikki's parents never married, but they both were always in her life and remained friends after breaking up. They are both still in her life as well as Miss Nikki's two kids Shariah and J'mile.
Miss Nikki got most of her dancing skills from her mother Faye Cannon, who use to be in a girl dance group and competed in dancing and singing contests in her teens. Miss Nikki followed her mother's footsteps also forming her own dance groups made up of cousins and friends throughout her life also. Miss Nikki father Vincent Davis, use to be a Dj and a promoter, throwing concerts and parties throughout Florida. Her father Vincent Davis was CEO of an independent record Label named PPI South. On this Label he had Rap artists Alvoid Mays, Lady Nubian, Lil Amp, D-Ice aka Boi Dirty, Big Bully and Total Kaos. Miss Nikki and her groups became the backup dancers for some of her father's artists as a young teen. Miss Nikki would also sign up the dance groups, Som- N-Serious and Ride or Die, for different competitions around Florida. Miss Nikki has always had music in her life by playing the violin for three years at Sugg Middle School, was in Southeast High School choir for four years and was in Mount Pilgrim Baptist church choir about six years.
Miss Nikki moved to Tallahassee in July 1997 and attended Tallahassee Community College, while taking some classes at Florida State University. She then became a Color Guard Twirler for Florida State University while her cousin Peter Warrick, former Florida State Football player attended college there too. Later on after giving birth to her first child, she attended Keiser University receiving an Associates of Science Degree in Medical Assisting and an Associate of Arts degree in Health Science Administration. While getting those degrees she became a backup dancer for Mr. Str8, a rap artist out of Tallahassee Florida. Miss Nikki was always rapping and singing other artists music until she was given the idea by friends that she should try to rap because she have a good voice for it. Later on friend Greg Lee, who is also a rapper out of Quincy Florida, wrote a song called "Going out Tonight" for Miss Nikki. On that song she featured R&B artist Skai, from Tallahassee Florida. Miss Nikki then learned fast how to write lyrics and started to pursue her rap career. In the spring of 2005 Miss Nikki hooked up with Tallahassee former dj Hutch Daddy dollars, where she recorded her first single "Go Girl".
The single was hot in the streets after performing shows with local group BSU. Later on Miss Nikki branched away from Hutch and BSU, but the song "Go Girl" was still supported by local dj's, Dj Lil Boi from blazin 102.3 radio station, currently T-pain's tour dj, Sean D from 90.5 radio station at Famu College and friend Thrill The Playa former dj of former 100.7 the beat in Tallahassee and Rap artist from the former group 69 Boyz. All The love and support from everyone gave Miss Nikki that North Florida and South Georgia buzz. Miss Nikki created her own label Florida Finest Entertainment L.L.C. and started performing "Go Girl" out own her on with her dancers "The Go Girls". Miss Nikki hooked up with dj Dap program director of Blazin 102.3 radio station out of Tallahassee later in the fall of 2005. Dj Dap was her local promoter and dj. Miss Nikki then was asked to host lots of events and made appearances to events like TJ DJ's record pool and the Ozone Magazine awards and Hood Magazine.
Miss Nikki has opened up for a lot of major artists as well as being a headliner herself. Some of the artist that she opened for are Ying Yang twins, Young Jeezy, Young Joc, Rick Ross, Trina, Ace Hood, Khia, Pleasure P, Plies, Roscoe Dash, Dj Khaled, Wocka Flocka, Thrill the Playa, B.G., T-Pain former group Nappy Heads, Crime Mob, Dem Franchise Boyz, Dj Unk, Maceo and Pastor Troy. One of the independent entertainers working in Florida, Miss Nikki is a versatile and energetic performer. She dominates the stage with powerful lyrics and dance moves in her performances making it hard for anyone not to enjoy watching her perform. Since 2005, Miss Nikki has put out Dirty Business Vol 1, 2 and 3 mixtapes and is currently working on the fourth one. Miss Nikki is pushing her current single "Cover Girl" co-written by I- James Gonzales. Miss Nikki is enjoying her success as she is looking forward to a bright future of establishing a bigger fan base.
