Lisbon's MISS LAVA release a new record in September 2012
Lisbon's finest rock n'roll disaster is releasing a new record in the September 2012 mixed by grammy award winner Matt Hyde (Monster Magnet, Slayer, Fu Manchu, Children of Bodom, Hatebreed, Sum 41, among others).
Miss Lava released 1 EP in 2008 followed by a debut album in the end of 2009 ("Blues for the dangerous miles"), which gained interested by the heavy music press and blogs. The portuguese Loud Magazine considered the album one of the TOP 5 portuguese records in 2009.
The band toured their home country extensively, played 2 uk tours in 2010, played the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles (Aug. 2011), big Portuguese festivals such as Rock in Rio – Lisboa, Vagos Open Air and Faro Bike Meeting, and opened for acts such as Kyuss Lives!, Slash and Friends, Fu Manchu, Valient Thorr, Entombed, Meshuggah, Barn Burners, Year Long Disaster and Roger Hodgson among others.
Miss Lava had 3 videos with heavy rotation on MTV Portugal, with the track "Don't Tell a Soul" chosen for promotion of the MTV Series "Skins" in Portugal. The "Don't Tell a Soul" video was directed in Berlin by Joerg Steineck (of "Lo Sound Desert" documentary fame).
The first single of "Red Supergiant" is "Ride", with a videoclip directed by Joerg Steineck once again. The german shot everything with the band at Las Vegas and at the Mojave Desert. Check it out at youtube.com/misslavarock or misslava.com
After releasing the new album in September 2012, the band will hit the road with tours, tours, tours, starting with a portuguese tour with the mighty swedes Truckfighters. More European dates are expected.
2012/2013 will be the season of the Lava.
