I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 Mission19 was born in the fall of 1995 on the campus of Colorado State University, home of the stalwart Rams. Ryan McConeghy (vocals, guitar, piano, shredding) and Joe Nolan (vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin) met the first day of the semester, realized they both had a passion for performing, and started practicing. The time the duo spent learning and writing songs quickly paid off as they were a staple on the “Greek” circuit, playing private parties and events around campus. Eventually, they found a home at Lucky Joe’s in Old Town Fort Collins and continue to play there today.

Throughout their career, they have played countless cities across the country and played to thousands of people, winning fans with their energetic live shows. They have toured with Grammy winners John Mayer and Hootie & the Blowfish, as well as touring favorites Guster, Sister Hazel, Tonic and others. Mission19 has released two albums on their own record label, 1998’s Soapbox Superstar and the 2003 follow-up Five Days From Home. Their sophomore album earned them critical praise and songs like “Make Up Your Mind” and “Late Night Phone Calls” found homes on radio stations from Colorado (97.3 KBCO) to London, England.

While occasionally playing shows with their 5-piece band (including bass, drums, and organ) they still perform the largest percentage of their shows as an acoustic duo, mixing in original material and covering songs from their contemporaries (John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Gavin DeGraw) and their heroes (Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, The Beatles.) If you haven’t heard of them yet, you will. They have been voted “Best Band Head For The Big Time” for the past two years by Denver’s glossy magazine, 5280. Apparently, the fans have spoken…they love what they hear and they want more!

Recent plans find them writing songs for a new album of original material due at an undetermined point. All Ryan and Joe are willing to say is that it will be out “sooner rather than later” and filled with “the quality of music our fans have come to expect from us…as well as a few surprises.”
