Hailing from Richmond, VA, Miss Gina grew up among a gospel singing family and began singing at the early age of 6. It wasn’t until a little later did she realize her love for storytelling and magic with the pen. “We would talk about deep issues, you know like our teachers.” Miss Gina’s music is a cross between R&B and Pop, dubbing it quality music with commercial appeal or “commercial classics”. Her classically trained upbringing, appreciation for music and stories has molded her own music. Her influences stem anywhere from Mozart, Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding to Rihanna and Beyonce. She say, “Good music, no matter where it’s coming from influences what I write and how I write.”



And all of this will be included in her eagerly awaited EP, “Speak the Truth”, released in mid-February. “A lot of people have asked when am I going to release something. Because Richmond isn’t the most supportive when it comes to local artists, I have always done demos. I’ve gotten approached too many times from people who have heard my demos and wanted to buy a copy, so I decided to finally release something for my fans.” “Speak the Truth” will be promoted with a CD Release Party to coincide with the project and a mass east coast radio airplay initiative. “Speak the Truth” features the production of Lex&Los, Ryan G. and D. Animals with all songs written and vocal produced by Miss Gina herself. Some songs also feature N.Lem Music, the songwriting duo Miss Gina works closely with. J. Bryant Productions produced one of the breakout songs of the EP, the title track, “Speak the Truth,” a duet with songwriter Elliott Smith. The old school vibe along with the mesmerizing melody captivates what Miss Gina is about, one who can grab the listeners’ ear now and for years to come. J.
