With blistering lyrics, pounding rhythms and soaring guitars, mind's hideaway blends the best
of today's modern alternative rock with their own flavors of classic rock, pop-punk, hip hop
and reggae. Inspired by the sadistic hilarity that is the American political system, their music
is often about the haves and have-nots, the criminals and victims, and the everyday person who
tries to survive the rising tides of corporate domination of our lives. When mind's hideaway is
not ravaging the blantant and comical hypocrisy of the right-wing conservative movement, they are
singing about the people who really matter: friends, family, (here and gone), and the people
we choose to share our lives with.
The band, which was founded in 2002 by frontman Graham Bridgman and ex-guitarist/vocalist
Eric Heffernan, has been through several incarnations and has retooled as a power trio with
Adam Boulton (joined 2002) on drums and his cousin Nick Bajzek (joined 2005) on bass. In the
spring of 2010 mind's hideaway teamed up with producer Travis Brown, the brains behind Chicago
punk-rocker outfit Split Habit, to record new material that became The Spill ep. It was
recorded with former member Joe Day (producer of mind's hideaway's previous album,
Supercollider), who laid down his unique brand of electro-keys rock. As a thankyou to all the
years of support that the band has received from friends, family, and fans, mind's hideaway is
releasing the new ep, The Spill, for free on the brand new website.
Eric Heffernan co-founded mind's hideaway with Graham in 2002 after years of playing their favorite
Weezer, Sublime, and 311 songs together. As a veteran songwriter known for his irresistable hooks, he
is currently working on a solo project that has landed his songs on several compilations.
Joe Day brought explosive keys, synths, trombone, vocals, and other instruments to the mix of mind's
hideaway in early 2007. The following year the band recorded Supercollider, with Joe engineering and
he and Graham producing their first full length album. Joe currently plays with the jam-rock band
Tula, (among other bands), and has opened or played official afterpartys for top tier acts like
Umphrey's McGee, Phish, and Disco Biscuits.

Travis Brown produced and engineered mind's hideaway's newest release, The Spill EP, with a spirit
that captured all the best takes and all the feeling that went into every song. Not simply a whiz
with hardware, software, and all things technical, Travis is an accomplished songwriter with songs
on Smallville, MTV's The Hills, and Laguna Beach, to name a few. He currently works at three
recording studios in the Chicagoland area constantly recording new bands and making them sound
better than ever before.
