DJ Mike Smoove (born Michael Riggins in August 26, 1977) is one of the

hottest hip hop DJ's from the West Coast to step onto the Hollywood



scene. He was born and raised in Inglewood, California. He later



relocated to Compton then to Santa Ana, California.



Music has always been a major part of Smoove's life; raised by his Mom



the majority of his adolescence he grew up listening to Old School



Classics. At an early age he was exposed to gangs and drugs. But to



keep him focused his parents started putting him in dance contests and



sports. Mike loved music whether it was listening, singing, or



dancing to it.



In 1989, Mike went to live with his Father in Santa Ana, CA to attend



school. Although his roots will always remain in Inglewood, CA, Santa



Ana would later prove to play in an instrumental role in his road to



success. During high school, he turned his focus to basketball and



was immediately placed on the Varsity team as a freshman and would end



his senior year as the Co-Captain of one of the State's top high



school basketball teams at that time. After high school he attended a



couple years of college, starring in basketball at saddleback college



with current Denver nugget Anthony Carter. But he would decide that



college was not the route for him and decided to pursue a career in



music. He started spending hours in the studio making beats at a home



studio his dad bought for him. And soon after that started making



hip-hop and r&b songs wit local artists. In 1999 Mike Smoove would



connect with B.H. Tha Great & Tyrant from Santa Ana. He started doing



music with them and joined the group, I.K. With



I.K., Smoove performed all over from night clubs, the House of Blues



Anaheim and Vegas, community events, all the way to opening for Rick



Ross in Miami. Even putting out several mixtapes. In September 2006



Smoove decided to shift his focus, he took the last of his savings and



purchased DJ equipment. He had never deejayed before, but knew more



about music and how to make people party than most DJ's he had seen



and heard. He practiced during every free moment he had. Plus studied



under Deejay's Rampage, N.I.C, Mark Da Spot, and Tendaji Lathan.



Then on October 28, 2006 only one month after buying his dj



equipment, He deejayed his first gig at night club the rocking taco in



Fullerton. Since then he has gone on to dj at almost every major night



club in Hollywood. Including My House, Haute, Mood, Element, The Highlands, The Garden



Of Eden, Basque, Cabana, Cinespace, Ivar, Forbiddin City, Sugar,



Ritual, Avalon, Lax, and the list goes on. Even being called to host or



deejay major events for stars such as Danity Kane, Swizz Beatz,



Tyrese, Tank, David Banner, Kwame Brown, Snoop Dogg, Dj Quik, Al B



Sure, Biz Markie, Allen Iverson, Dwayne Wade, Kenyon Martin, Lebron



James, SD Charger Antonio Cromatie, GB Packer William Blackmon, Sf 49er Dashon Goldson, Lamar Odom, Jordan Farmar, Josh Powell, Trey Songz, Jackie Long, Young Jeezy, Shaq, Ne-yo, T-Pain,



Hurricane Chris, R Kelly, Gorilla Zoe, Yung Joc, Penthouse Magazine



and so on. He would go on to appear in the september dj issue of Ozone magazine. Also Mike Smoove has been traveling to do gigs in Atlanta,



Las Vegas for all star weekend, Arizona, Utah, Florida, Denver, and over



seas. He is also the tour dj for Young Jezzy/CTE artist 2eleven. Dj Mike Smoove has now joined forces with one of biggest and



hottest dj crews in the land The Core Deejays. Known for being
