After listening to the opening track of "Wake Up For The Shake Down," you might get the impression that Michael James Anderson is trying NOT to be heard. The album, MJA's first as a solo artist, contains twelve tracks full of whisper sung vocals and stories of alcohol fueled nights followed by mornings of repent. Overall, seeds of hope are planted throughout the mix. For the past eleven years, Connecticut's "Flu" has been the main musical outlet for MJA, being one of it's founders in 1998. With numerous tours under his belt and 3 full length records with Flu, (2003's "Remedy," 2005's "Amalgamation," and 2009's "For Love and Brother), Michael is currently working on his second full length solo record tentatively titled "Restless Sea."

"Proof that rockers don't have to rock out to be effective."
".this is solo acoustic at it's best."
-Alexis Fitts - New Haven Advocate

".the songs on his solo debut require listeners to take notice and listen to every guitar strum and calmed vocal. "
-Nick Stefanovich - Northeast Performer

"Flu" song "Sensitive Guy on Roller Skates" is the theme song to Season 1 of "Marv's Psychic Shop" (also check out "A Templar's Lament" (by Flu) featured in this episode). Watch the full season at http://black20.com/marvs-psychic-shop
