Eminating from Toronto's east side: Scarborough, this multi-talented massive known as the Mighty Monolith is quite possibly the world's illest hip-hop crew ever! Yep, we said it. Comprised of MC's, DJ's and producers, Monolith has been living hip-hop and bringing unbelievable music to the world since the early 90's.

The crew first gained prominence in 1996 with the release of Beat Factory's RapEssentials Volume One album which included the debut singles and videos from Monolith members Dan-e-o ("Dear Hip Hop") and Wio-K ("Sunlight").

Monolith's debut release as a collective took place in 1998 on their own label, One Rock Records. The Long Awaited. EP cassette and subsequent 12" single featuring the gems, "Bye D'Plenty", "At The T.O.P." and "Plan Eh" helped the crew garner the respect of a nation.

In 2000, Monolith appeared on Mastermind's Volume 50: Street Legal album in "Let's Make A Record Deal Episode 2" alongside Russell Peters as "Dick Rider". The track also served as the B-side to the album's first single, "Bump!" by Choclair & Mr. Roam.

The following years saw the members branch out into successful solo ventures including Dan-e-o's The Book of Daniel and See No Evil, Hear No Evil albums, Irs' Welcome to Planet Irs LP, Grimace Love's Fire In The Streets mixtape series, Nish Raawks' Buck Canuck CDs and Rishaard a.k.a. Shamon Harage's Confessions of a Prick?! mixtape just to name a few.

In 2006, Monolith dropped the Welcome To Scarborough mixtape showcasing the many incredible bangers from the various members of this 11-man crew. As well that year, the bangin' single from Frank 'N' Dank's album Xtended Play Version 3.13, entitled "What Up", was produced by none other than Monolith's Lancecape.

In 2008, Monolith celebrated The Long Awaited. EP's 10 year anniversary with its first-ever release on CD! That year, Whole Wheat Brothers Music also released The Bakery Mixtape featuring a bunch of new cuts from Monolith members Grimace Love, Rishaard, Wio-K, Darker Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spidahman) and Dan-e-o.

Monolith's most recent releases include Wio-K's debut album In Real Life, Grimace Love's debut album Perception and Dan-e-o's latest CD OBLIVION! Tha Indy Wrestling Album - a collection of original entrance themes for professional wrestlers with a hard rock hip-hop feel. All three albums are available on iTunes now!

Dan-e-o's first ever FREE digital download project: Dilla Pickles, a 2 in 1 album/mixtape in tribute to legendary producer/rapper J Dilla is out now! Download it from this page!

Stay tuned for more from the Mighty Monolith!
