Michael Kosterman

Michael Kosterman is a singer and songwriter who was born and raised on the west coast of Canada. He began writing at the age of 15 and by the age of 22 was travelling all over British Columbia performing with various bands.
In 1988 Michael had his first professional recording session. One of the songs from that session, titled Leaving The Bad Times Behind, brought attention from Penta Records in Vancouver. Michael was not signed, but the interest from the record label gave him confidence in his writing abilities and the desire to continue recording.
Ten years later Michael recorded more songs in Vancouver. One of the songs in this session was titled Just Like Me. Six years later, in 2004, this song was re-recorded with the title Ride Through The Rockies. Changes in the way music was promoted to radio allowed Michael to begin to submit his songs for radio airplay to stations all over the world. Shortly after sending Ride Through The Rockies to several radio stations, Michael received airplay for the very first time. The first radio DJ in the world to air Michael's music was Aleta Tulk at KIK 88.7 FM in Queensland Australia. Since that time Michael has continued to record and release songs independently and has been supported by independent radio stations all over the world.
In 2009 Michael was invited to Nashville to sing the National Anthem at the Fairgrounds Speedway and to perform at the historic Douglas Corner Cafe. A true honour for any Canadian artist.
In 2010 Michael officially released his first album, titled My Heart Is A Song, to iTunes, Amazon.com and several other digital download stores. There was a great repsonse to the album. More than 350,000 hits to Michael's Myspace page, and nearly a quarter of a million song plays, prove that he truly is one of western Canada's most talented singer songwriters.
Currently in 2012 Michael is recording songs for his second album. He is enjoying the most prolific writing time since his teenage years.
