Miasthenia

Miasthenia was founded in the beginning of 1994, idealized by Hécate(vocal/guitar), Vlad ( bass/vocal) and Mictlantecutli (drums).
In 1995 they recorded the rehearsal-demo "encanto do sabbat"which the lyrics were sung in Portuguese. This work had the support of sound riot productions on the distribution.
In 1996 they recorded the demo "Faun - Trágica Música Noturna" in which they included the keyboards to their compositions. Hécate took place on the keyboards/vocals and the bass and Vlad the guitars and vocals. In this very time began the proposals for concerts and because of that they decided to invite Mist to take the bass.



In 1998 they had the demo "Faun - Trágica Música Noturna" re-released through Evil Hord Recs in a split cd with a band from Rio de Janeiro Songe D'Enfer. Since 1998 the compositions started basically from the keyboard lines and lyric subject was being gradually influenced by pagan South American mythology and by the wars for the conquest of South America in the XVI century between Christians and Pagans.
In 1999 the band had changes in the line-up. Vlad left the band and Hécate took all the vocals along with the keyboards. In order to have a full line-up they invited Thormianak (former-Harppia) to play the guitars. His influence from the 80's metal school added a strong personality to the sound of the band.



From1999 to 2000 the band worked on the production of its first album "XVI" released trough Somber Music.



In 2004 they release the álbum "Batalha Ritual" through Somber Music recorded in São Jose do Rio Preto (SP) at AREA 13 studios with Gustavo Vazquez. In this very year the band was invited to take part in a mini tour as opening act for the Belgian band Enthroned and the Brazilian band Evil war.



in 2005 Mictlantecutli (drums) left the band. In December a new journey starts with the new drummer Hamon (Mythological Cold Towers and Spell Forest). Since then the band follows working on the composition of the new album.



In 2006 the band returns to the stages and performs some concerts in southeast of the country. In October the same year the band took part in one of the biggest metal festivals in the country the "brutal devastation" in Belo Horizonte.



In April 2008 the band releases its new conceptual álbum "Supremacia Ancestral" also through Somber music. Each lyric of "Supremacia Ancestral" was inspired by a South American pagan resistance movement or sect against the indoctrination in the colonial South America and based on Pre-Colombian profanations and apostasy. At the moment the band is booking concerts in the entire country.



O Miasthenia surgiu no inicio de 1994, idealizado por Hécate (guitarra/vocal), Vlad (Baixo/vocal) e Mictlantecutli (batera). Em 1995 gravam a demo-ensaio "Para o Encanto do Sabbat", cujas letras foram entoadas em português. Esse trabalho contou com o apoio da Sound Riot Produções na distribuição.



1996 - Gravam a demo "Faun - Trágica
Música Noturna" em que acrescentaram o uso de teclados
às composições. Hécate passou a assumir
os teclados/vocais/contra-baixo e Vlad as guitarras/vocais. Nessa
mesma época as propostas de shows começaram a surgir e
em função disso resolvem convidar Mist para assumir o
contra-baixo.



1998 - A demo "Faun." foi relançada pela
Evil Horde Records em um Split Cd junto à banda carioca Songe
D'Enfer. A partir de 1998, as composições partiram
basicamente das linhas de teclado e a temática lírica
foi sendo gradativamente inspirada na mitologia pagã
sul-americana e nas guerras de conquista do século XVI entre
cristãos e pagãos na America.



1999 - A banda passa por mudanças na sua
formação, com a saída de Vlad. A partir dai
Hecate passou a assumir inteiramente os vocais, junto ao teclado.
Para fechar a formação convidam Thormianak (ex-Harppia)
para as guitarras. Sua influência oriunda da velha escola do
Metal oitentista adicionou forte personalidade ao som da banda.



1999 a 2000 - A banda trabalhou na produção de
seu primeiro álbum intitulado "XVI", lançado
pela gravadora Somber Music.



2004 - Lançam o álbum "Batalha
Ritual" pela Somber Music, gravado em São Jose do Rio
Preto (SP) no AREA 13 estúdios com o técnico Gustavo
Vazquez. Neste mesmo ano a banda participou como convidada de uma
mini turnê que abrangeu cidades da região sudeste e sul
do Brasil, abrindo para a banda belga de Black Metal Enthroned, que
também contou ainda com a participação do grupo
Evil War.



2005 - Mictlantecutli (baterista) deixa a banda. Em dezembro
inicia-se uma nova jornada com a entrada do novo baterista Hamon
(Mythological Cold Towers e Spell Forest). Desde então a
banda segue trabalhando nas composições de um novo
álbum.



2006 - A banda retorna aos palcos e realiza alguns shows no
sudeste do pais. Em outubro do mesmo ano participa de um dos maiores
festivais de Metal no pais o "Brutal Devastation" em
BH.



2008 - Em Abril é lançado o seu novo
álbum conceitual - "Supremacia Ancestral"
também pela Somber Music. Cada letra do Supremacia Ancestral
foi inspirada em um movimento ou seita ameríndia de
resistência pagã à inquisição e
catequização na América colonial, baseado em
apostasias e profanações de essência pré-colombia. No momento a banda esta agendando shows por todo o Brasil.
