Le groupe Metisse, originaire des environs de Saint-Avold (Moselle), existe depuis une dizaine dannées. Son style est influencé par les grands noms du reggae : Bob Marley bien sûr, mais aussi Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, The Gladiators et bien dautres
Une vibration roots, deux chanteurs qui mélangent leurs voix ou alternent le lead vocal, des compositions en anglais et en français caractérisent le style Metisse
Groupe de scène avant tout, la formation - aujourdhui constituée de neuf musiciens (André et Wahib : Guitares et chants, Dominique : Guitare lead, Malik : Claviers, Sylvain : Sax alto, Claire : Sax ténor, Mohamed : Basse, Moundy : Percussions et Louis : Batterie) - compte à son actif plus de 250 concerts.
Fin 2002, le groupe sort son premier disque intitulé Jeunesse, entièrement autoproduit et composé de sept titres originaux. Laccueil très positif du public permet au groupe dêtre sélectionné par la FNAC dans le parcours "Nouvelle Scène Française" lannée suivante.
Dernièrement Métisse a pu participer à la finale européenne du tremplin organisé dans le cadre du Rototom Sunsplash Festival, le plus important événement reggae dEurope qui se tient à Osoppo en Italie. . En compétition avec 40 groupes européens au départ, la formation lorraine (seul groupe français sélectionné) a fait partie des 10 groupes invités à se produire en Italie.
Metisse prépare actuellement son second album tout en continuant a assouvir sa soif de scène

Joined together from the beginning by their passion for the reggae "roots", the members of the group make their musical training while following this musical line resolutely, inspired by the music of artists and groups such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, The Abyssinians, Israel Vibration, Steel Pulse etc
In 2002, the group records its first Cd, "jeunesse". Entirely own-produced and composed of 7 original titles, it meets a very good echo near the reggae audience and will be selected by the important music company, FNAC for "The new French Scene operation» in 2003, with only 60 french bands of all style.
Today the formation counts with its credit more than 250 concerts given in local bars or festivals which enable him to have a solid experiment of the scene and an image resolutely "roots" near the audience.
Lately the regional scene gave to the group the advisability of playing in first part of Gladiators in Nancy in 2003 and of forming part of the programmation of Festival JDM of Bulligny in 2005 with The Skatalites and Israel Vibration.
In july 2006 Métisse have been the only french reggae band qualified for the European finale of the Rototom Sunsplash Festival Reggae Contest.
