Blige, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway, The Emotions, and Selena, the entertainment world may not be ready for all Rachel, Evelyn, and Janet have to offer. The three Latin sisters collectively known as “MERJ” have emerged to further diversify the hip-hop/ R&B game.Rachel brings a soulful R&B vibe. Evelyn the R&B flavor of the group who loves to listen to old Motown and it shows in her vocal style. Evelyn is to MERJ as Chili is to TLC, while Janet is hip-hop to the heart- just an angel with attitude. Each is highly talented individually and as a group, they are definitely the next wave in the industry. “There are no other girl groups out there like us right now. Yes, we maybe young but we attack the stage, take the audience for a ride and bring them right back without missing a beat,” says MERJ.MERJ has performed at various events in the Los Angeles area, such at the “Cinco de Mayo” festival, other Latin events, showcases, and local cable television shows. MERJ received an award for “Best R&B Artist of the Year” presented by the 8th Annual Unsigned Artist Music Awards in 2005.
