A SHORT FANZINE ABOUT ROCKING 16 AUTUMN 2006

KIPRONO ALBUM REVIEW:

"I've got to admit to a slight bit of bias before I go any further. This band will always have a special place as far as I'm concerned. Ever since I saw them at The Witchwood in Ashton-Under-Lyne in front of about 15 people (and I think about 10 of those people were the other bands). I even bought two copies of their album because they'd travelled all the way from Dundee to play there and hardly any one showed up. Basically, they missed out. After hearing the new album I came to two conclusions. The first being, this band will eventually be huge and the second, why aren't this band already huge? I already admitted my bias but it is a well-placed bias.

Each track on this album provides a blast of intense yet melodic music. I've never heard another band like it to be honest primarily because I'd think that it could be difficult to translate the energy of a live show that contained this kind of music onto record but it's done and done extremely well by MTS. From the haunting instrumental opener all the way through to the album's stand out track "I Hear It's What The Kids Are Buying" (which is a good 2/3 of the way in) it's non-stop quality. It has to stop somewhere though.and it stops perfectly with "The Signs Are There". Starting as a delicate acoustic ballad and evolving into an emotional and euphoric ending, it pretty much sums up this entire album. No doubt the naysayers and the clueless will label this as "emo" when it is the furthest thing away. Just ignore this and check it out yourself. I guarantee you won't be disappointed."
