The Blejean brothers are renowned musicians from the traditional scene of Brittany; after being involved in many musical experiences during the nineties (Glaz, Dùn, Gilles Servat, Gwazigan, the Dogs Bollix, Pierrick Lemou, Sualtam.), they are now both members of two Breton top bands: Ronan plays with Darhaou and Loïc recently joined Carré Manchot.
They had never played together until they toured in the U.S. with singer/guitar player Nancy Conescu in 99; they decided to keep playing irish music as a duet, then turned into a trio with Philippe Jegou on guitar, who also plays with Nantes-based group Talar and with amazing uilleann piper/whistler Pascal Martin.
In 2006, they started to work with highly talented bass player Erwan Volant (Hamon-Martin Quintet, Gilles Le Bigot, Olli & The Bollywood Orchestra,.) and outstanding tabla player Jerome Kerihuel (Didier Squiban, Jacques Pellen, Kerihuel Bros.,.).
Loïc Bléjean (uilleann pipes, low whistles) ancien membre de Glaz, Gwazigan,.joue aujourd’hui dans Carré Manchot, Ars’Ys, Dùn, UnderX et en trio avec Ronan Pellen et Julien Stévenin. Son frère Ronan, l’un des rares spécialistes de l’accordéon système irlandais (do dièse/ré) en France, a tourné avec Sualtam, Gilles Servat et officie désormais en fest-noz avec Darhaou et en duo avec Yann-Loïc Joly. Après avoir eu des parcours musicaux séparés, ils partent ensemble en 99 rejoindre la chanteuse américaine Nancy Conescu aux Etats-Unis pour une séries de concerts où va naître l’envie de poursuivre l’aventure à deux, puis à trois avec le guitariste Philippe Jégou; originaire du Centre-Bretagne, ce Nantais d’adoption fait partie du groupe de fest-noz Talar. Au printemps 2006, ils sont rejoints par Erwan Volant (basse) et Jérôme Kerihuel (tablas, programmations) : après 10 ans de fest-noz avec Carré Manchot, Erwan écume maintenant les scènes avec Hamon-Martin Quintet, Gilles Le Bigot, Olli & The Bollywood Orchestra… Issu de la Jaipur gharana (Rajasthan, India) où il suit l’enseignement du grand maitre Pandit Girdhari Maharaj, Jerome Kerihuel, dit Jram, acquière sa maturité musicale après une quinzaine d’année de prestation du club londonien aux fest noz bretons, des temples en Inde aux festivals internationaux, des disques des majors aux K7 dupliquées de Marakech.et joue aujourd'hui avec Jacques Pellen, Didier Squiban,.
