Born in DC, now residing in Los Angeles, Mental is an artist whos’ freestyle always prevails when tested. Known for his witty punch lines and up-to-date metaphors this rapper has been free styling since the age of 15. Outside of music, his teenage years were spent hustling, playing sports, and school but Music always stayed number 1 in his life, battling anyone who crossed his path.



At the age of 17, he made the choice of joining the United States Air Force to help keep him out of trouble that was barreling down towards him. Mental first traveled to Arizona, where freestyle battles were in abundance. It was there he made a name for him self so much that a newly opened club asked him to keep making appearances for the battles, to help build attendance.

While in Japan, Mental met up with the group formerly known as Street Smart Sounds (S3).Within only a few weeks, Mental found another club to rock on a continuous basis called “The Slums.” It was there that he let his presence and skill be known on a weekly basis. After Leaving S3, Mental linked up with Q-U and recorded his first mixtape “Irrefutable Evidence.” Before the completion of his Debut Album “Undeniable Consequences,” he met up with other lyrically skilled rappers like Embrace, Fittz, and Stress. Together they formed what is known now as “The DM Clique” (Drastic Measures).



For the last years of his term, Mental finally arrived in California where he linked up with legendary vocal producer Reckah of Made Man Productions. Every week for 2 years you could catch Mental working in the studio whether it was recording numerous freestyles, mixtapes like “The Experience” and “Mental 08,” and albums like “Mental Notes” and “1-800-FUND-A-MENTAL.” While Stationed in Lompoc, California, He met up with other extraordinary rappers like Craze Loc, YBV, Traumaticc, and Elegal, and was part of The Poc (poke) Allstarz. “The Poc Allstarz“ was a coalition of local artists, who were serious about their craft, and career, and did local shows once a month.



In 2007, Mental left the Air Force, and moved down to Los Angeles to fully focus on his career. While still working with Reckah as a producer and part time manager, Mental has met up with other local producers like “The Architects.” With 4 Mix tapes under his belt, 3 albums, a music video, numerous freestyle battle wins, and still performing with more albums and mixtapes on the way; Mental is quite possibly one of the greatest rappers ever to circle the world.
