Biography
Melissa Montgomery is a country singer/songwriter who grew up in a small town outside of Oklahoma City and began performing at the age of 9. She has won numerous awards such as the Horizon Award at the Oklahoma Opry, Colgate Country Showdown state winner, and was voted OCMA Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the year. Melissa made her national television debut as a contestant on CBS's Star Search. Naomi Judd, who served as a judge made the following comment about Melissa, "she's got commercial appeal!" She has opened up for headlining acts including Steve Holy and Clay Davidson.

With influences from her dad's love of country and classic rock she began writing her own material. Her first song called "Someday" was recorded in the studio at the Oklahoma Opry, where she performed regularly on the weekends. Shortly after, she began recording radio and television commercial jingles with such companies as Chevrolet, Bank First, and Channel 43 in Oklahoma City all written by Ryan Bellgardt, who in return produced several of her first originals. In 2004, Melissa decided to move to Nashville and form the band Upside of Envy and in 2008 they released their EP "Full Bloom". The Oxygen channel show featured two songs from that project. She is currently working on a solo project to combine both her country roots and edgy style and is collaborating with some of Nashville's finest writers.
