Meghan Shanley is no ordinary aspiring Country Music artist.

She is truly gifted, interpreting music by radiating power through her pitch

perfect vocals, flawless vibrato, and soulful expression. Her undeniable vocal

talent, combined with striking beauty and a dynamic stage presence, set Meghan

Shanley apart from the competition. Influenced by Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt,

Trisha Yearwood and Martina McBride, she sings about the female experience and the struggle to be true to one's authentic self. Meghan’s vocal stylings produce a cutting edge, modern country sound that is unmistakably her own.

At such a young age, Meghan has considerable experience performing for audiences and fans with a diverse mix of age and gender. Armed

with her powerhouse vocals, she has performed at numerous fairs, festivals, conventions, tournaments, USO shows, private events and concerts. She has opened shows for Diamond Rio, Kenny Chesney, Doug Stone, Mark Chestnutt, Chely Wright and Lonestar.

She is presently featured performing on Fine Living Network's "The Genuine

Article" and a Food Network wedding special airing this summer.

The daughter of a retired Navy Senior Chief and LPN nurse, Meghan grew up in Virginia Beach,

along with her two older sisters. A solid athlete, her early years were spent

playing softball and running track; then her focus turned to music and like her

mother says, “If music was playing, Meghan was singing!” Meghan also became captivated with pageants after seeing her older sister in one. She found the spotlight appealing and instinctively knew that she could entertain people. Eventually, she was encouraged by friends and family to compete in the Miss America Organization. “Everyone kept telling me that if I sang I would definitely win. So I rehearsed everyday until I felt I could perform in front of an audience and win the competition.” Meghan was crowned Miss Virginia 2001; and like everyone predicted, she not only won the talent category, but the swimsuit as well. “Making appearances and traveling over 3,000 miles a month in 2001 gave me a taste of life on the road and fortunately, I love it! My platform as Miss Virginia was B.A.S.E. (building and achieving self-esteem) for our nation’s youth. Being a role model is an important but often neglected part of celebrity. I want my life to stand for something and I will always volunteer my time to

worthy causes close to my heart.” Inspired by her faith and the support

of her family and friends, Meghan made the decision to leave Virginia. “It

was the ideal time to make the move to Nashville and give it all I have.” Nine months later, Meghan began working with Nick Pellegrino, a talented producer, and songwriter, who shared her vision. With the support of Kerry Bay and Baccer Stick Productions, Meghan was afforded the opportunity every aspiring musical artist dreams of. A natural in the studio, she recorded five songs at The Farm with some of Nashville’s finest musicians. The result is an ep showcasing Meghan’s uniquely rich vocals with carefully chosen songs that have personal meaning. “Red Paint Smile” is particularly important to me, because it broaches a topic most women struggle with - being true to yourself no matter what the consequence.” Meghan Shanley is a star in every sense of the word. Her beauty and energy light up her onstage performances as she packs sheer vocal power in every note. Countless public appearances have been an excellent training ground that has enhanced her offstage persona, creating a gregarious performer who embraces her fans and enjoys promotional activities. The Roanoke Times called Meghan, “A Musical Diva in the Making.” Actually, she is an exceptionally talented, down-to-earth person who is passionate about her beliefs and strives to cultivate a lasting career in country music. Meghan Shanley now stands poised on the threshold of that prediction coming true.
