“So I was standing on the beach in Nice singing and playing Guitar dressed in my swimming trunks when Dave Stewart walks up to me and says, “hey man, do you wanna make a record?” Medi Parisot

So begins the story of Medi and the Medicine Show…

After playing at Stewart’s wedding, signing to a label and recording a series of solo tracks Medi hooked up with a group of top musicians (and old friends) and so, Medi and the Medicine Show was born.

Constant touring has transformed this 5-piece (vocals, guitar, bass, sax and drums) combo into an electric live act and their performances have been described as “a relentlessly paced rock and roll show… like the Beatles on fire!” It’s no wonder they’ve supported the likes of Supergrass, KT Tunstall, Duffy, Juliette & The Licks, Tom Baxter and Charlie Winston.

2009 has already proved a busy year for the band with gigs in London, LA, NYC, SXSW and a European tour, but despite their unwavering commitment to the live show, Medi&TMS have still managed to find time to hit the studio and record a new EP to be released under their own label, STEREOBLAST.

The album entitled ‘At Last’ follows the classic tradition of an A side/ B side split. The first 5 (A-side) songs see the band laying down tracks in a classic studio environment under the watchful eye of producer, François Chevallier (Coldplay, Arcade Fire, The Macabees.). The last 5 (B-side) tracks shift to a live session recorded at the Pigalle Studio in Paris and produced by Bruce Keen (Air, Phoenix).

Due for release on June 16th, the EP is already creating a stir amongst music lovers and with Medi’s vocals being likened to Stevie Wonder and the band drawing comparisons to Cream and Lenny Kravitz, Medi and the Medicine Show are well on their way to taking the music scene by storm – watch this space…
