Transforming the entertainment industry with his mix of the Creole language Mecca aka Grimo has been publicized as the phenomenon of The Spoken Word / Hip-Hop Creole Movement. He has been serving as a catalyst on the entertainment scene for international artists throughout the world; who vision success in this industry. He regularly visits schools and community centers and inspires young people to achieve in their academics and in life. Mecca aka Grimo tours with the Haitian Heritage Museum in a fulsome presentation called "Ayiti Expose." This presentation is exhibited in schools to educate other nationalities and Haitians alike on how rich the Haitian culture is and its contributions to the world. He earned a degree in Acoustical Engineering and has applied his studies towards projects that surround him including his own work.



Mecca aka Grimo's love for music in combination with his love for his heritage has helped him transform his art into a vehicle of hope and pride in the Haitian community. The young Haitian generation embraces his mastery of lyrics and the way he finesses American club remixes. The older generation embraces his passion to educate through music. His drive is to educate utilizing entertainment as a platform. In the upcoming May 2007 issue of “EnFocus Magazine” Mecca aka Grimo is being nominated as one of the top 100 influential Haitians in Florida. He continues to travel across the world performing Spoken Word / Poetry in Creole and English. In recent celebrations of Haiti’s Bicentennial, Mecca aka Grimo drafted several poems in his native language of Creole about the struggle and the history of his people. He has incorporated these poems in his shows to revive the pride and love that has been so smeared by the recent political unrest.
Mecca aka Grimo is also part of “The Live Poets Society,” which is a organization that promotes literacy through Poetry. His freshman Spoken Word CD "PHARAOH 2 THUG" is a collaboration of bright artists from the "Live Poets Society" camp. Other contributions from Mecca aka Grimo are Hip Hop Creole Mix CDs “Radio International WHEX 509 FM” and "Kreyol Konneksyon Mix CD Vol. 1." In the summer of 2005, Mecca aka Grimo traveled to Haiti with “The Miami Film Group” to complete a movie titled "KIDNAPPINGS". The movie depicts the issues of kidnappings that are currently widespread throughout Haiti. The delicate topic also touches on other prevalent issues tarnishing Haiti's image and tourism. The mission of the movie is to shed light on some of the unfortunate situations back home, so that we may one day find a solution. Mecca aka Grimo’s talent is limitless and transcend beyond Rapping, Acting and Poetry. He is the unofficial poster boy for “The Hip-Hop Creole Movement.” His highly-anticipated freshman album “Kreyol Konneksyon - Kole Tet” is set to release the second quarter of 2007. It will feature yesterday’s and today’s rising and well-established Haitian and American artists such as: Wyclef Jean, Sweet Micky, Farah Juste, Carimi, Black Alex, Top Adlerman, Jimmy-O, Show Off, Belo, Smitty, Anthony B, Black Violin, Strings, Dr Zoe, Stitchez, Flo, Neg Maron, Seca Konsa, Benchoumy and many more recording artists and musicians that will add flavor to an already enticing line-up! His first single off the album entitled “More Fiyah” featuring "Light" formerly of Da Bush Babeez is impacting radio now.



On Point Entertainment & Marketing, Hex Battalion & Mecca aka Grimo have established a non-profit / non-political organization called "FE POU LI.org" / "Children's Hope Chest of Dreams" which provides food, clothing and educational supplies to different facilities in Haiti & abroad. "FE POU LI.org" / "Children's Hope Chest of Dreams" does this through drives and donations while using the Entertainment Industry as a tool.
