In 2005, a rock and roll band was born in Columbus, Ohio, a town ripe with overlooked music talent. Mayday (known then as Embassy) quickly got the attention of the music industry with their "Loft Recordings" demo, which earned them a Top 10 ranking by MTV for the “Best Unsigned Bands in the Nation,” a HITS magazine's "Buzz Act" tag, and an inclusion in AlternativeAddiction.com's “Top Ten Unsigned Bands.” This attention quickly led to a publishing offer from Sony/ATV (The offer came from Jon Nelson who had recently signed FallOutBoy, We Are Scientists, Cartel, and Rise Against). After completing the publishing deal, the band immediately refocused its attention on writing (for themselves and other artists), recording and touring. After a false start in the studio, and heavy touring, and songwriting sessions with some legendary songwriters (including Grammy winner Brett James) Mayday received an offer to head into the studio with writer/producer Dwight Baker in Austin, TX late last year. "Save The Day", "California", and "Don't Tell Me" are the fruit of these sessions with Baker.

Songwriters Mike Seminari and C.Todd Nielsen have also begun writing for other artists in a variety of genres. Their most recent publications include the songs "Never Be The Same" and "Forever" on Grammy-nominated RED’s 2009 release, INNOCENCE & INSTINCT for Sony Essential Records. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Record Label Independent Current Albums chart, No. 1 on the Top Current Contemporary Christian Albums chart, No. 4 on the Top Current Alternative Albums chart, No. 6 on the Top Current Rock Albums Chart and No. 15 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.
