Welcome to Max Volume's space.Troy Mowat (of 7Seconds) and Max Volume released the new cd "Max Volume" 3/17/11, Produced by Rick Kopplin and recorded at Alpha Wave Studios, in Reno Nevada. It's available on Itunes, Napster, Amazon mp3, Cdbaby and digstation. The music was written around the Drums. Early believers are Pure Rock Radio, Rock Radio Network UK, and Planet Rock UK. The cd features Johnny Bailey, Kyle Archuletta, Chuck Garric, Lenny Supera, Paul Schum, Widgeon Holland, and Jave Patterson. An 18 month support tour is being planned.
"Live8" (recorded during the summer of 2008), was released Jan 31st 2009, where the illuminaughty touring band: Greg Sample on Drums, Lenny Supera on Lead Guitar and vocals, John Gaddis on Bass and Vocals, and Max Volume on Guitars and Vocals, were captured live.
The Max Volume Band recorded the 3rd studio cd "illuminaughty" in the Summer of 2007. With Max Volume again writing, or co-writing the entire thing. In the studio; Pat Cola played Drums on "Reno Nevada" and on Bass was his PUSHBoX band mate Mike Grover. John Gaddis on Bass, former Edgar Winter, Sammy Hagar, Pat Travers & Michael Furlong Drummer Chuck Ruff, and Widgeon Holland (Google him) on Lead Guitar, and Max Volume on Guitars, Vocals, & Keyboards, the band's sound had found it's place. The CD would be a record like no-one makes any more, a story. A Rock song, an acoustic song, a blues song, a forest, a beach, a cloudburst. The CD was released to rave reviews on Nov. 1, 2007. It's available World wide on ITunes, Mp3 sites like Digstation, and CDBaby.com.
The band has had some serious gigs, playing with a lot of great bands, either locals, or National Acts. Widgeon left for Europe and Lenny Supera joined the band. Lenny brought his legendary axe work to life on the music. Chuck Ruff quit in May of '08, and Greg Sample took over the drums, and then Mike Wortman took over on Drums.
Max started out in 2001, doing his thing, writing his own music. Back then he was called "The Monster Truck of Acoustic Guitars" .furious fretwork and open tunings made Max Volume a show to see. The UNR Sagebrush called Max Volume "A cross between Nirvana and Led Zeppelin- Pure Beach Bonfire Music". A regular opener in Northern Nevada, for the likes of Foghat, Steve Morse, Pat Travers, Sugarloaf, Ned Evett, Dave Mason, Widgeon Holland, Mickey Thomas, Mumbo Gumbo, Edgar Winter, Reo Speedwagon, Firefall, Les Dudek and more; Max has entertained crowds at the local watering hole, to thousands, in concert opener slots. Whether full on electric, intense acoustic, or throwing down with the solid steel chrome dobro, he plays genuine American Rock'n'Roll.
