Maxwell has had the privilege to reside in a few of Brisbane’s more popular clubs. Mostly well-known for his work at the Underdome Night Club (2001-2003), Squeeze Club (Alex Hills Hotel/2005-2008), Pressure Lounge (Calamvale Hotel/2005-2008), and, Mercury Night Club (2006-2008), Maxwell’s most recent achievements include becoming the promoter for Mystique {Brisbane’s newest home of RnB} and joining the Hitmen Crew {a collection of Brisbane’s elite RnB DJ’s}.

“February 2003 saw me hang up my gloves to pursue a spiritual journey. I saw myself drowning in a pool of pride and deceit, lust and greed. My reason for becoming a DJ was no longer music for the people, but to neglect everything that made me. My selfishness finally caught up with me and I knew I needed to change. There was a part in my life that was searching for something more and I was filling it with all the wrong things. Honestly, it wasn’t until I found God that my emptiness was filled…and I was complete.”

Maxwell came back in the game with a vengeance, building a long list of achievements, and gathering a great number of fans. Continuing on from his early radio work – hosting the On and On Show on Groove FM (2000-2002) – Maxwell has hosted numerous events, for such celebrities as Koffee Brown (2001-2002), Az Yet (2006), Chingy (2006), Australian Gospel Music Festival (Toowoomba, 2006) , America’s Most Wanted Tour featuring Bone Thugs and Dogg Pound(2007),Boyz II Men and K-Ci & JoJo (2007). Additionally, he has hosted (and DJ’ed at) various after parties, including, Usher (2001), Rumba (with guests such as Shaggy, Toya, Bon Jovi, Suga Babes – 2001), Commonwealth Games After Parties (2006), Unofficial Roc Tha Bloc After Party (2006), G-Unit (2008), Supported Dj Rectangle (AUG 2008) and Chris Brown & Rhianna After Party @ Mystique(OCT 2008)– just to name a few. Maxwell has also hosted and organised many dance and DJ competitions, as well as organising the Krump Kings NZ/Aus Tour(2007).

Maxwell teamed up with DJ Rock in 2002 to release their first Mixtape, The House Warming. Maxwell pioneered the Kingdomised Gospel Mixtapes (strictly hip hop, RnB and Gospel), now up to its 5th volume. Since then, Maxwell has released multiple mixtapes, including 2A.M. (2004), The Comeback: DJ Maxwell (2005), Sessions Mixtapes ft DJ Mista (Volumes 1-4), and Nice & Slow Vol.’s 1-2 (2007-2008). {*For copies of these mixtapes, order here on myspace.}

As a DJ, Maxwell has made a name for himself among Brisbane’s urban community. He has been requested as a guest DJ interstate, and has had the opportunity to work in clubs in both Sydney and Melbourne, as well as all around Queensland. More recently, Maxwell took his music internationally, playing for crowds at CM2 Bangkok (Thailand, 2008). RCA Slim and Route 66 and Bed Super Club(Thailand, April 2009), Q-Bar (Thailand, June 2009)

Maxwell remains an irreplaceable member of the music industry, and will continue to expand his sphere of influence, both as an entertainer and as a role model in the urban scene.
