Matt is a composer of film music, guitarist for UK rock band Le Monnier and teacher and writer.
Matt started playing piano aged 11 and eventually took on guitar and drums. Combining classical and rock influences he went on to perform and record with many Jazz and Rock ensembles during his teenage years.
Film Music
Having been inspired by other composers such as Michael Kamen, David Arnold and Craig Armstrong, Matt began composing music for small independent films in 2004. His work has been shown in the UK, US, Australia and Africa and includes films such as Restricted (2011), The Shake Off (2007) and Our Time To Live (2007).
Le Monnier
In 2005, Matt joined female-fronted rock band 'Le Monnier' initially as drummer and later becoming guitarist. Together the band have released two albums, Cynic Sister (2009) and Russian Doll Life (2011). Matt has produced both of these albums and supplied additional orchestral arrangements for many of the tracks. The band is what Matt spends most of his time working with now and they are currently touring the UK.
Solo Work
Matt has composed numerous works over the last few years and in September 2011, will release his first album 'Regression Play' consisting of solo piano works written between 2004 and 2010. He will also be releasing more of his previous works in the coming months.
Video, Film and Photography
Outside of music, Matt has worked on creating mixed media productions such as Tempus Fugit and Kurfurstendamm Nuclear Bunker as well as music videos and other online productions.
