Matt Ellis is a Folk/Rock Singer/Songwriter from Sydney, Australia. His four album releases have taken him across the United States, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and Mexico. He's performed at such venues as The Sydney Opera House, The Troubadour, CBGBs (RIP), The Bitter End, El Mocambo, Hotel Cafe, Spaceland, Pappy & Harriets, The Annandale Hotel and Tucson's Rialto Theatre sharing the stages with Calexico, J.Tillman, Port O'Brien, Perry Farrell and John Doe to name a few.
He's had the pleasure of recording with Greg Leisz (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Ray Lamontagne), Nels Cline (Wilco), Merry Clayton (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones), Tim Young (Beck) and many more incredible musicians across the span of his career. Tracks have been licensed by ABC TV America, MTV, MSN, QANTAS and played on Australia's Triple J Radio, Triple M and FBi, along with Indie 103.1 FM in Los Angeles and dozens of college and online stations around the US.
Ellis has just released his 4th album, "Births, Deaths & Marriages" digitally, and received an HONORABLE MENTION from the International Songwriting Competition for it's lead track "Heart Of Mine". The music video for the track scored 3rd place in the BEST VIDEO category.
