Young Singer/Songwriter with a Wise Soul.

As a young child, Matt Coleman began singing church hymns around the family piano. In his later years, while attending college, Matt decided to pass the time by picking up a guitar, and a pen. The songwriting began. Matt frequented local open mics, and became fast friends with Marquis Howell. This duo soon became a trio when Joe Perez (Big Sandy and his Fly Rite Boys) joined the band, now known as Hobo Jazz. Matt kept busy with Hobo Jazz, and he even continued playing solo shows, and hosting Singer/Songwriter Showcases at Redlands’ Vault Martini Bar. At last, 2007 brought the completion of a four year project: Matt Coleman’s first solo CD release, titled, Grin of Livin’.

On Saturday, December 8, 2007, Matt Coleman will be performing at the Fender Museum in Corona from 8pm -10pm. This show will also donate part of the proceeds to the Kids Rock Free Education Program at the Fender Museum in Corona.

Matt Coleman recruited over a dozen musicians to collaborate with for Grin of Livin’. The musicians include: Chad Villareal on drums, percussion, guitar, tenor guitar, banjo, and vocals, Matt Wyckoff on bass, Gabe Hartman playing saxophone, flute, and clarinet, Jeff Wilson on stand-up bass, Joanne Kim boards, and synthesizer, Matt McGonagle on pedal steel, Brian Price on fiddle, and vocals by Melody Coleman, Allison Sattinger, Amy Coleman, Zara Davis, Rachele Barton, and Sophia Magallanes.

Matt Coleman brings the family sing-a-long to the folk circle of song. Musicians aplenty will fill the Fender Museum on Saturday, December 8, 2007. This venue is located at 365 N. Main Street / Corona, CA 92880. The venue phone number is: (951) 755-2440. The show is from 8pm -10pm.
