Bekker

Matt Bekker is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Seattle. Hailing from the birthplace of grunge – lately a hotbed of indie rock – Matt decided to create non-traditional venues for playing his brand of music, and to invent new ways of getting noticed. He threw his guitar in the backseat of his car and hit the road on his own, in search of an audience for his laid-back tunes, heart-on-sleeve lyrics, and general lack of his hometown's patented angst.
He began converting fans a dozen or so at a time, inside the sorority houses of every institution of higher learning west of the Rockies. Matt insists these gigs were never as glamorous as they might sound. They involved driving thousands of miles per week, sweet-talking his way past gatekeepers way tougher than your average nightclub talent booker, and sleeping in the aforementioned car (curled up with the aforementioned guitar). He is currently writing and co-writing new songs, and still playing the occasional sorority house.
