Growing up to the sounds of the San Francisco Bay Area, Mary was heavily influenced by such bands as Santana and Journey. Mary, at a young age after a series of coincidences ended up getting guitar lessons with Journey guitarist Neil Schon and later working with the members of Santana’s band.

“I’ve been so lucky to be living in this area! It has always been a hot bed of music talent…” Mary has shared the stage with Metalica, Motley Crew, Michael Jackson's Band, Men at Work, Rod Stewart, Saxon, Huey Lewis and The News, Berlin, Missing Persons and more.

Mary’s studio work as lead guitarist includes many National Television ad campagnes such as SEGA, Nintendo, Nintendo Game Boy, Got Milk, Porche, RC Cola and more. She’s had the pleasure of working with such name producers as Bob Rock (Bon Jovi), Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston), Scott Mathews (Beach Boys), The Tubes, Huey Lewis’s band The News, and Marvin Gay Jr.

Mary writes and records in her state of the art studio, producing young talent like Kristin King’s jazz EP/Album to be released Oct.08, Thankfull’s sophomore Contemporary Christian CD “Wake Up” with platinum singer Jen Newell.

“Playing live is the most fun ever!” … Mary muses. “I’m playing live club gigs with Terry Lauderdale Band, Thankfull is doing radio appearances as well as playing as a full band at festivals and churches…” and Mary also enjoys playing with her worship band at Hillside Church of Marin in Corte Madera, California.

“I like to give back to my community by playing rock through, and at, my church, it is a great way to serve and give back. We play for a lot of amazing causes such as helping raise $700,000.00 for the starving folks in the Kilimambogo region of Africa, a festival SF to help clean up the Tenderloin district, and a benefit for the Bob Griffin family who lost his wife and the mother of his children in a car accident, at the Mill Valley block party in Sept. 08. – there is nothing better in the universe than sharing music to lift folks up… ” Mary Cary 2008
