American Music Award winner, and Grammy nominee with the group Wild Cherry, Marty Montgomery is no stranger to the music business or the world with 3 world tours and numerous concert engagements around the United States.
Born in New Orleans and reared by two musical parents Saxman James Montgomery and Violinist and hairstylist Mattie Montgomery, Marty began playing drums at the age of 4 because he couldn't reach the lower keys of the Saxophone. Upon arriving in Detroit Marty studied saxophone in the Detroit Public Schools then furthered his musical studies at Oakland University. Locally Marty has performed with the Blues Brigade, Bugs Beddow Band, Sweet Claudette and Friends, Moose and Da Sharks, The Exceptions, Tickweasel, The Motor City Brass Band, WDIV Old Dogs.
