Drawing on influences from artists like The Beatles

and Grant Lee Buffalo, to name but two, the songs have

an innocent humour and depth carried on memorable hook lines and

The Rosenkranz sound is a fusion of indie, low fi, pop and traditional

folk topped off by an almost psychedelic approach to the vocal.

OK, NOW THE STORY SO FAR:

in July 2006 martino Vergnano , a musician from the north west of Italy

founded with a group of friends a band called:

"ROSENKRANZ".

since the very beginning, between a cigarette and a glass of wine

the rosenkranz always tried to recreate the atmosphere

of a “60’s world” that only exists in their mind with their own songs with that

“folky/beatle-esque/indie/part time alcoholic” attitude.

the name of the band is after a movie called “Rosenkranz and Guildenstern

are dead”

they recorded (march 2007) their first E.P.:

"WE don’t Care".

that got good reviews from the main music italian magazine

in April 2007 they did a tour in northern Ireland

in November 2007 they won a national competition called: m.e.i./space

a contest organized and promoted by myspace Italy and m.e.i.

(meeting of indie labels) with more than 550 bands in competition.

the jury included 20 journalists of the main italian music magazine.

in April 2008 they signed a contract with "Audio ill " a label from Belfast,

northern Ireland for the distribution of our first e.p. im northern Ireland

and a contract for a new album with “fuori-fase records” in Milan.

june 2009 released the new album "however" produced by fuori-fase records milan

in april 2009 their music video "i don't care" won the valsusa filmfest

an international film festival in the valley of susa (turin-italy)

some of their songs have been broadcasted on air by rai radio uno (italian

national channel)

and “toindie” a web radio of Turin Italy

they are regularly playing gigs in Italy and abroad .

I rosenkranz

I rosenkranz nascono nel 2006 in provincia di Torino.

Sin dagli inizi, tra una sigaretta e un bicchiere di vino,

i 5 musicisti cercano di ricreare con le loro canzoni un improbabile

mondo fatto di folk, musica indie,reminescenze anni 60,

rock , che esiste solo nella loro fantasia.

il nome è preso in prestito da un film.

In poco tempo i rosenkranz riescono a suonare in tour in nord Irlanda,

poi Londra, Berlino, e il nord italia da Trieste a Sanremo

Nel 2007 vincono il primo m.e.i./space contest (550 bands partecipanti)

organizzato dal m.e.i. di Faenza e da myspace italia.

il loro primo e.p. “we don’t care” pubblicato da audioill

(etichetta di Belfast, nord Irlanda) riceve ottime recensioni su riviste

e siti specializzati . e loro canzoni vengono trasmesse da radio indipendenti

e da “demo” di radio rai uno.

aprile 2009 il video di "i don't care" vince al valsusa filmfest nella sezione

dei video clip musicali
