Martin Fogel : TOKYO ESCAPE SKETCH - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 03, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Tokyo Escape Sketch - for acoustic or classical guitar - composed and performed by Martin Fogel.

Tokyo Escape Sketch was inspired by the urban poetry and relative cool of the city's humid summer nights, the piercing choirs of cicadas in the dark crevasses beyond the reach of the undying neon lights, the pulse of incessant life, and the resonance of memories stirred by my own imminent departure from what had been my home for many years. It is influenced by minimalism, electronica, and the works by guitarists Michael Hedges and Dominic Frasca.

As for the title, the vicissitudes of my life allowed me to draw a humorous (and vague) analogy to the sci-fi classic Escape from New York.

Composed in June 2010.
Recorded 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Score in standard notation and tab.
