Cherry

With rock, soul and electronic influences, Marlon Browden/Cherry creates a sound that's earthy and loose, fresh and moody with lyrics about life, love, you and me.
While touring and recording on the drums with Vernon Reid, John Scofield, Wax Poetic, Norah Jones, Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam and others, I started Cherry in New York as an instrumental band. Wanting to express more, the attraction to the piano was natural as I grew up with it in my family and I began writing songs centered around me as a singer. After moving to Berlin a few years ago, I started playing guitar and bass which gave the music more of a rock edge. But for me it's simply about combining the ways I experience life and music into audible love.
From working on my own to developing the songs live with other musicians, the vibe of Cherry is constantly in motion, what you hear now are new home recordings I wrote in Berlin.
