Marli

Hi Everyone. My name is Marli. I started singing, songwriting and developing as a solo artist a couple of years back. Although a newcomer to this mad world of music, my background experience in performing began a few years back. I danced and acted at a young age and then took my love for acting to New York where I graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. On my return to UK, I continued performing by taking parts, large and small (some so small I couldn’t be seen) in TV, Film, and Theatre.

Although acting is still a part of my life, events during this time caused me a lot of heartbreak and sorrow. It was through writing and singing that I unloaded these emotions and most of my early songs reflect this.

The Carpenters, Eva Cassidy and Delta Goodrem, among others, have all touched my life and been very influential in my development.

In the last eight months I have been gigging in and around London at venues including ‘Betsy Trotwood’, ‘Acoustic Lounge, Clapham’, ‘Halfmoon, Putney’, ‘Soho Revue Bar’, ‘Sidcup/Bexley Guitar Society, ’Pop-Rocktic@Myplace’,'Spice of Life,Soho' and ‘The Living Room, Islington’.

I have sung the main vocals on the feature film ‘Last Summer’ composed and produced by Chris Barnett for Oriental Dragon Productions.

My Songs have also been played on Xltrax with DJ Shaun Wood and DJ Orbit, and also 7Waves, Liverpool with DJ Steve Rimmer. Thankfully all good feedback!

I hope you enjoy my songs as much as I have enjoyed penning them.
