Redefining the word success is part of Mark Scott‘s daily routine. An overachiever to say the least, Mark Scott has worked professionally as a singer, dancer, songwriter, pianist, and impersonator. Growing up in the small town of Portage, Indiana, Mark Scott began his career modeling and singing the gospel at the young age of 5. It wasn’t long after that when he would blossom into an expert of his craft. Finding inspiration at his local church, Mark Scott began to use his voice towards worship and praise. His faith-filled performances would take him all over the United States, as well as parts of England, Ireland, and Scotland at only age 16. Although he blossomed as a local entertainer, it wasn’t until he auditioned for the first season of American Idol that his career would take flight. As Mark Scott excelled to be a finalist in the top 30 of the television phenomenon, along with greats such as Kelly Clarkson, Nikki McKibbin, E J Day, Christina Christian, etc., Mark was given opportunities to appear not only for Fox, but also in Teen Magazine, Inside Edition, TV Guide, and Local Indiana news stations. You may remember him as the contestant that Paula Abdul referred to as “the best Michael Jackson impersonator she’d seen in a long time.” Mark Scott also used this secular platform to speak at Youth ministries nationwide. After American Idol, Mark Scott went on to work professionally as a featured singer with Busch Entertainment Corp. and as a lead male singer with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Mark Scott was also a regional finalist for the Christian phenomenon "Gifted Talent Search" created by industry manager Johnny Wright (Backstreet boys, NSYNC, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Boys II men, Pdiddy etc.) Mark Scott was also recently featured in the re-airing of his American Idol experience on the show “American Idol Rewind”, which hit televisions nationwide in late September. Currently, while residing in the "sunshine" state of Florida, Mark Scott is diligently in the studio working to finish tracks for his upcoming CD release, which includes the single “You Are the Son”, written and produced by industry greats Gary Carolla and Guy Walker. Gary is best known for his writing and production for such artists as Snap, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Britney Spears, and Aaron Carter, however it is his testimony to the Lord that has been the inspiration for this project. Mark is enthusiastic about this album and anticipates that it will bring hope into everyone’s hearts, Christians and non-Christians alike.
