The Power Praise Worship Band (PPWB) is a group of worshippers from a wide range of Christian churches in the UK. This multicultural, multi-denominational ensemble are united by their mutual love for Jesus Christ and a passion to see the world come to know and worship Him.



Formed in 1998 by Mark Beswick and long time friend and song writing partner Howard Francis, the PPWB featured an original line-up of singers and musicians that reads like the whos who in UK gospel music; singers such as the talented Lawrence Johnson, Dave Daniel, Priscilla Jones, Michelle John-Douglas, Phillipa Thorpe, Fay Simpson, Ruth Lynch and Angela Hodge together with UK gospels A list musicians Freddie Thompson, Jerry Brown, Robert Anderson, Michael Brown and Qura Rankin, all of whom contributing in no small part to the unique sound that is Power Praise. The PPWB recorded their first live worship album entitled True Praises in the summer of that year, which featured songs such as the Caribbean flavoured Sing unto the Lord and the emotively intimate True Praises, songs that quickly became praise & worship anthems in many church congregations throughout the UK and abroad.



Their debut outing was soon followed up by the critically acclaimed The King is coming album, distributed through the Kingsway Music label. This was another live worship CD that was among a number of UK worship benchmark recordings in 1999, and provided the church with yet another dose of vibrant praise and passionate worship songs such as the infectious Wave Your Hands, the delectably smooth mid-tempo groove of My Help and the South African rhythmic sounding The King is Coming, all helping to further establish that unique Power Praise sound.



Mark Beswick & the Power Praise Worship Band were internationally recognised in 2004 by the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards who awarded them the Praise & Worship Recording of the year for their King is Coming album, along with the award for Choir/Chorale Recording of the year for the song Wave Your Hands featured on the aforementioned album (see www.marlinawards.com).



These true worshippers are also passionate about being a practical resource to the church and are providing training opportunities for worship leaders, worship teams and church congregations through their Worship Clinics'. These clinics are training days that combine biblical worship teaching with practical instrumental and vocal workshop sessions and is equipping believers nationally and internationally to affect their sphere of influence with the power of true praise!
