Based out of McAllen, Texas, Mariachi Los Arrieros del Valle was formed in the spring of 1996 and is quickly becoming one of the most popular mariachi groups across the country. Los Arrieros is a 12-piece ensemble comprised of young and remarkably talented musicians with an immense desire to promote the beauty and splendor of mariachi music. With their energetic shows, strong vocals, stirring melodies, and masterful execution of classical, traditional, and contemporary arrangements alike, Los Arrieros have captivated audiences across the United States as well as parts of México under the direction of Alex Trevino and Musical Director, Marcos A. Zárate.
Their musical prowess has led them to stellar performances at high class venues such as the Mariachi USA Festival in Hollywood, CA at the world renowned Hollywood Bowl, the AVA Amphitheatre in Tucson, Arizona, and at the Verizon Amphitheatre in San Antonio, TX. Other key performances include the 10th Annual Las Cruces International Mariachi Conference in Las Cruces, NM, the Ford & Lincoln Mercury Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio, TX, the 1st and 2nd Annual Clark County ISD Mariachi Conference in Las Vegas, NV, and concerts in Uvalde, TX at the City Auditorium as well as the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at both the Astrodome and the Reliant Stadium. Local performances in their home town of McAllen, TX as well as concerts in the cities of Victoria, Bryan, and Harlingen Texas for various festivals have also yielded Los Arrieros del Valle much acclaim. In an Ovation Series Concert Production of A Mariachi Christmas in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico in December of 2004, Los Arrieros performed five sellout shows that received excellent reviews and garnered praise and recognition for the group. A concert tour in the state of Jalisco, México with various shows in the city of Atotonilco is another one of the many audiences that Los Arrieros del Valle has had the opportunity to delight. In addition, Mariachi Los Arrieros del Valle have collaborated and/or shared the stage with world class artists such as Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Mariachi Cobre, Mariachi Sol de México, Mariachi América, Mariachi Imperial, Mariachi Reina de Los Angeles, José Feliciano, Pedro Fernández, Rocío Dúrcal, José Guadalupe Esparza of Bronco, Joan Sebastián, Joe López, Roberto Pulido, Bobby Pulido, Humberto Herrera, Rhonda García, Tony Bravo, Ramón Ayala, Kumbia Kings, Grupo Mojado, Dulce María Castro, the tenor Mauro Calderón, and Rodrigo Vidal.
Mariachi Los Arrieros takes great pride in being The Premier Mariachi of Texas and serving as role models for the future generation of mariachi musicians. Various members of Los Arrieros are mariachi educators throughout school districts of the Rio Grande Valley, most are full time university students, and include graduates from mechanical engineers to college professors. Mariachi Los Arrieros del Valle represents the music of Mexico to its fullest with its vigorous sones, doleful huapangos, dynamic rancheras, and romantic boleros that depict the sentiments of audiences young and old while their music speaks to the versatility and arranging talents of Marcos Zárate and preserves the tradition and rhythms of the mariachi by delivering the very finest in mariachi entertainment.
