Marching Orders was conceived in 2002. A 3 track demo was recorded, but the original lineup disbanded before playing live. After a years hiatus, the band was resurrected with Al on vocals being joined by Chris on drums, Ben on guitar and Ander on bass. After six months of songwriting and practice, the addition of Phil on lead guitar further solidified the bands musical direction.

This line up released the independent six track ‘Last Drinks’ EP in 2005 and in 2006 contributed two songs to a split 7” with Canada’s Alternate Action on Longshot records. The bands pub rock sound combined with traditional Oi! stylings drew comparisons with the likes of Menace and On File by reviewers.

Not long after these releases Ander parted ways with Marching Orders and Doug was introduced to the fold on rhythm guitar while Ben moved on to bass duties.

2007 saw the band regrouping with this new line up, hitting the stages again, and writing new material for the next release. Dead End Street was released late 2007 on cd in Australia on Three Stars Records and on 10" vinyl in Germany on Randale Records.

In 2008 the band released a brand new 5 track 10" vinyl EP, again on Longshot Records. This came out just in time for the bands first ever international shows when they travelled to the US in May. After playing in New York City the band travelled down to Allentown to make a main stage appearance at the 2008 East Coast Oi! Fest.

2010:

The album 'days gone by' is now available. It features 14 new tracks, it comes with a gatefold cover and 12 inch album as well as a cd.

Drawing influences from both the rich heritage of Australian pub rock and the pioneers of the Oi! and streetpunk movements; combined with their experiences in punk, rockabilly and hardcore bands; Marching Orders plays street level rock’n’roll straight from the heart, no matter what the trends of the day might be.
